It’s like that here in Texas too. We timed it right last year and got the perfect layout. It looks like the Rv market is getting better on the supply side finally though. The lots have been packed of inventory from what I’ve seen in my area.

Been in the same situation. I found it much better to rent. Although a bit pricy, as you mentioned no maintenance
or storage fees. Was able to get larger and smaller ones depending who went with.
When I am tired of camping, not stuck with selling it

Check out RVshare. It worked for us. I won't go enough during a year to justify owning my own for now.

Depends on how often you plan to use it. The best thing about owning one besides the fact of only you use it and you never have to make a reservation for it, is that you can leave all your stuff in it. Dishes, chairs, grills, towels, jackets, etc. are already in it, packed up to go. When you want to go camping all you do is turn the fridge on, load with food, and hit the road.

Hell, i keep the fridge on, keep it stocked with food and BEER, keep the water tank 1/2 full and BAM....It's ready to go at any given time. Besides, the biggest perk about owning the RV is ONLY I have slept in the bed and POOPED in the toilet :)

Love those Camaro’s, 68 blue and 69 silver. I digging that Biscayne even more. Is that Chevelle Butternut Yellow?

Yes it is/was. I sold it. Car built at Fremont plant-went up freeway 4 miles to dealer and 94 year old original owner lived in Fremont midway between plant and dealer!! 53K miles but 307:turtleride:

I do still have the others, the 427 in Biscayne is more like it

This is the downside of renting one. I rented a toyhauler a few years back and it’s a pain loading all the things you need then removing it all and cleaning it when you get back with time pressure in order to return it on time.

Bullet 272BHS. I’ve towed it with a 2.7l eco boost, a 6.2l F250 and now the Tundra. The Tundy is definitely in between those two, probably closer to the 3/4 ton. I’m very pleased with how the truck handles the camper.

Got to finally tow my sailboat. Dea Latis weighs about 5000lbs and the tow and launch went smooth. After discovering a leak, the haul and tow back home went even better... [IMG]

I'm pretty sure I could have parked my camper inside this monster and let him haul it for me.

Just paid off my 3 year old Coleman (Dutchmen) 26’ bunkhouse. I’ll post some pics next weekend after it’s all loaded up.
I saw where @Nightshade Tundra just picked up a Ram 2500 gasser. I did the same thing back in 2018. Traded my 2008 sr5dc for it. I honestly couldn’t tell a ton of difference in the towing performance. Ended up going back to a tundra, haven’t towed with my current tundra yet, but I’m excited about it.

Please post pictures would love to see the setup

For me it's a big difference it could be due to a few differences my trailer length is 33ft and it's a Toy Hauler and my understanding that they have a higher tongue weight. I feel a considerable difference towing on a semi windy day which we have a lot of them where I live. I also didn't like the way the front end felt, my arms were always tired after a few hours of driving since I felt like I was always fighting the steering wheel to keep it straight. I also do get better gas mileage out of the Ram I was getting about 8 mpgs I'm now at 11 mpgs. Good luck on the towing

I’m sure the tongue weight and additional length on that toy hauler make a difference, especially if you plan to add a topper. I had nothing against the Ram and I loved the 6.4. MPGs were about the same for me, right around 9 with my 08 and the Ram. Longest haul I made with both was 4 hours to the Smokies. Getting rid of the Ram was more of a financial decision. Got in early on the used truck buy back from the dealer and made enough money to be comfortable with the decision.
That blue looks good. I’ll post some pics this coming weekend. Happy Camping!

    Thank you!

Were actually getting everything ready to head out to Moab and then Lake Powell should be an interesting drive through I70. Not sure if you all watch TFL truck but they have some videos of them going up and down the hill on the west side of the Eisenhower tunnel "Ike Gaunlet". It's got me a little nervous and excited all at the same time lol

I watched their “towing test” with the Ram and a full 14k on a trailer. I think it was the same place you’re talking about. Looks like it’s an equalizer for sure. Post up some real life results on the Ram.

Just towed this guy ~1800 miles through 4 states over 10 days. First time towing a travel trailer… felt a bit crazy, but learn best through experience and learned a lot. Big thanks to this forum for all the info that helped me prepare and embark with confidence.

Well as an update, I said I would post pics but we cancelled the camping trip to go visit family in another state. Gonna try again next month before the kids head back to school. @Nightshade Tundra how did the Ram do?

Used 2013 Jayco Jay Feather Ultra Lite X23B, I bought it cash for $7500 which was a really good deal. In great condition, tongue is 410, GVWR is 4950, easy pull for the tundra. I keep my bed empty, I feel comfortable knowing I have extra numbers leftover for payload.
