I wish that was the case I’d get them adjusted under warranty. I hate the tacked on looks of the aftermarket controller and the cost. But I know the trailer brakes work because if I manually activate them they’re strong. Also if I put the controller in electric over hydraulic they work too but then they’re either full on or off, gives whiplash in slow traffic if I tap the brakes and the trailer yanks on the truck. But under normal use with the brake pedal in electric mode I can tell the trailer is just very lightly using its own brakes. It’ll be interesting to see the difference with the Tekonsha next weekend when I take the trailer out again. It’s weird that I have this problem when yours does work for your trailer which is heavier than mine. Maybe I got a bad controller or it’s a different model year? Mine’s a 2017. I don’t know. Annoying. It sounds like the 2018 models have a better factory controller.

100 miles in to a 1000 mile round trip to the grand canyon, and the IBC decides to crap out on me. Needless to say I have now ordered a Tekonsha P3 with the replacement housing.

I towed this from Biloxi, MS to Tacoma, WA in early November. Trailer weighed in at 6200lbs fully loaded. I had the bed of my truck loaded also. My route was through Amarillo over to Albuquerque, up to Moab, UT, then north to Salt Lake, through Boise, through Deadman's Pass in Oregon (that was fun), through Snoqualmie Pass, Wa and finally into Tacoma...

Then this past week, I left Tacoma and took the same route back to Mississippi.

She pulled like a champ for the most part. Gas mileage wasn’t the best. I lived on the top half of the tank. Each way cost around $700 in gas. Worst part of the entire trip both ways was through New Mexico to Amarillo. Had a strong headwind both ways. No major issue with the numerous 6% grades that I had to climb and descend.

One can always tell when someone takes being a bad ass to the next level.

Nice flippen canon..LOL!! I hesitate to ask, but what do you do with that? Historical reenactments, restoring project, or zombie eliminator?

My Carpenter that did my kitchen install would have loved to have that. He was outside the first day. I felt so bad for him, I pulled all the vehicles out of the garage, had him set up in there, turned on heater.

Anyway, nice set up you have. I bet your tools don't grow legs and walk off as much as others as well. I want an enclosed trailer bad.

Yeah....it's great having this kind of set up for home remodeling. I started with an open air trailer and just saved up cash to have this one made custom

Thanks! I got the Tundra used in 2015 and RIGHT AFTER I bought it I heard the new Tundras were being upgraded to a 38-gallon tank. (Which is HUGE when you are only getting 10 mpg when towing...so 380 miles range versus 250) But we'll have to wait....gotta get the wife's new Prius paid off ASAP.

I haven't considered that! If I buy the 38-gallon tank would it fit in my 14? (I do know a discount Toyota parts website and have a local mechanic who's reasonable)
