I tow a 22' car hauler loaded with my XP1000 and Teryx. This pic is when I had my Tacoma. It didn't like towing. So I decided to get the Tundra. Kept the Tacoma for 10 years and loved it. But man this Tundra is in a whole different class. I love it.[IMG]

Yep. It was only temporary until I could find a Tundra. I towed them about 6 times. I live about 8 miles from two of the Hatfield McCoy trailheads. That is as far as I went. Not the smartest thing I ever did, not the dumbest either I guess.

I pull a 3 horse gooseneck trailer, loaded down with 3 full size horses and a weeks worth of camping supply. To be a gas truck the tundra will jerk it around like it doesnt way nothin. These trucks are beasts

Is yours the full size bed or the short bed?

It's the 6'6" bed. I'd be a lil afraid to pull my trailer with the short beds, be scared it would get into my cab.

Pretty sure I'm picking up a new (used) Tundra tomorrow....limited edition / crewmax......we need more backspace and the DC just isn' t cutting it (sigh) I'm looking at two....one of them is already lifted, tow mirrors, tires, wheels, bed cover, tint, exhaust, etc etc.....a year older and 40k on spedo (im at 32k)....he also has the tow thing hooked up for braking....idk what he towed (dealership) wonder how much of a difference it made on those 40k as far as engine / tranny wise?

Probably no difference. I wouldn't buy something already lifted though. Good luck.

Curious......what does that trailer weigh when it's loaded? And do you know what the tongue weight is? As for the GN extensions, I used one of the 4" extension balls that dropped in the bed and pushed the ball back 4" on my F250 because I put the cabover of the GN trailer into the rear window once. I didn't like the extension due to it pushing the weight off the center of the rear axle and it bounced the truck around a bit pulling 13.5k. I switched to a 9" extension on the trailer which left the weight on the axle. Much happier with the towing that way. I only made 1 trip with it before I sold the trailer but really didn't notice any difference with or without the 9" extension except that I didn't have to worry about the rear window any longer.

Better financing with new, and you get an actually new truck. Also... A new crewmax is only a couple thousand more than a used crewmax...

I took one of my wife's horses to boarding today, she takes him every year about this time to keep him in shape and so she can ride indoors in the winter
