I've got brakes on mine. I wouldn't tow anything except a small utility without them. I agree, too many idiots out there.

I have a question. When you all are towing are you using the manual mode with the transmission?I just made another trip to the Gulf Coast pulling our Toy Hauler and on the way down I just left in Auto.Truck had a little bit of a hard time on some of the grades but noticed once it finaly shifted down to 3,000 rpms it would pull OK.I experimented with the manual shift last 30 miles on the way home and seems to work better for me when I would go ahead and just shift truck into 4th gear before I even get to the grade.4th is the gear my truck is in at the 3,000 RPM pulling my trailer.Just was wandering what you guys are doing different than me because I can promise you I can tell my trailer is behind me.I did manage 8.3 mpg this trip I didn't think that was to bad.

You can tow either way. I prefer to just use TH mode in Drive and feather the throttle to get the truck to downshift. Others use manual shift mode and like that method.

    Hope you enjoyed the trip.

So if you move over to the manual shift does it take it out of the TH?

I've only pulled my camper once a total of 320 miles. I didn't know for sure how I was supposed to set the transmission but ended up putting it in 5th gear and everything seamed to work ok. I didn't use tow/haul because the terrain was fairly flat. I averaged 10.5 mpg. I did try 6th gear but I thought it shifted too often. I might try using 4th gear next time just to compare the difference in performance and mileage.

I tow a 23' camper that weighs about 4500 lbs and I use the tow/haul button and leave the transmission in auto. Works great for me - the increased torque at take-off is very noticeable and it raises the shift points.

My 2007 Tundra (non4X4) 2017 Keystone Hideout 28 ft long. 1st time tower, does great going over the mountains. AVG over 10 mpg on my last 200 mile trip which included going over the cascades. Very satisfied.

Pulled a 33' RV. Unfortunately, too much swimming and white knuckling on the freeway. Wife freaked. Sold the trailer. Keep the Tundra (and wife, of course) Now travel from b&b to b&b across the country. On my second Tundra. Life is good!

Took a quick drive up towards Togwodee Pass the other day to see how the Tundra would pull. I'm getting ready to travel and live out of this thing for a few months.

Nice looking truck. You will need that airstream trailer with a good heater !

I actually wish I had a smaller camper for shorter trips or by myself.
