We just got back from a weekend camp out with the TT we bought a year ago. Wife saw one of these Imagine XLS trailers, now she wants to go trailer shopping again for a little “extra space”.

I moved up from my little first camper , I loved it , we just ran out of space when we had our third baby and a dog .
I love the imagine , kids fell in love with it when we were rv shopping , we can finally fit all our gears and clothes. Both with no slide out ,less headache in my opinion and the best thing is 6340 lb gvwr which is great for our trucks

Why are the axles so far back on the trailer? Doesn't that put a huge portion of the boat on the tongue?

    Two questions.
    1) Did you happen to weigh the trailer too? If not CAT Scales allow you to return to the scales within 24 hours to re-weigh for something like $2.
    2) What do you tow inside the trailer? It looks like a really nice setup!

Trailer weighed in about 2000 lbs. I brought my tools and hazardous materials the movers would not take. Overall about 6500 lbs of steel, latex mattress, teak furniture and other stuff. Unfortunately I sold it and I am in the market again. Load was so heavy it bent one of the trailer wheels! I had to get another in Pendleton at a Walmart. I’d rather have a 10k capable trailer and under load it next time.

That's what I did for my trailer. Haulmark built it to my specs. 18 foot cargo trailer plus 1 foot of height added on 6" boxed frame rated up to 10K lbs if I'd put two 5K axles under it. I ordered it with two Dexter EZ Lube Never Adjust 3,500 lb axles for registration reasons. Fully loaded I'm just under the 7K lbs weight limit. I did upgrade the tires to load rage D from load range C just recently. I can send photos upon request.

I'm thinking the same, the axles on the trailer are too far back. And yes, that puts more weight on the tongue.

Those axles are under the heaviest part of the boat. Front of the boat is all fiberglass. My surmission is that the tow vehicle has a level kit. The squat normally induced by the boat and trailer is exacerbated by this, and possible the wrong drop on the hitch. I have to flip a 2” hitch and run the resulting 3/4” rise to keep my trailer level. The trailer leaning forward also adds some tongue weight.

The rear of the boat my be the heaviest part but don't under estimate the weight of the front, fiberglass isn't exactly light. I have a 21' fiberglass boat with a tandem axle trailer, my axles are forward of that and I have a 250hp outboard and two shallow water anchors hanging off the transom along with four batteries at the very back of the boat.
As for the hitch, if the squat wasn't as much I think the hitch height might be correct. With my boat I run a 2in drop and I could actually drop a little more.

Not directed at you @Gaston , but for @NorcalHntr the source of this discussion. Not that he asked us to critique his setup, he was just posting a beautiful pic of his truck and boat. Appears to already be draining from the pulled plug in the pic.

Not sure why the trailers axles are so far back, thats how it came. Im sure the trailer manufacture builds them wrong.
As for the squat the ground there is uneven and at an incline, the picture is a horrible representation.
The boat weighs about 3400 dry and the trailer is about 1500 so close to 5000 without gear and fuel.
Also I dont hookup my brakes or lights while Im driving to and from my storage at the lake. Im so irresponsible
Thanks for all the negative comments. I appreciate it.

Quoting helps with the confusion so people know who's being referenced.

My take on this boat is that originally I was shocked with the squat but the more I stared at it, it looks like the boat was just pulled from the water and the drive that the picture is taken is actually a pretty decent incline causing the picture to look slanted and causing the track to squat. The wheel gap isn't really that far off in the back compared to the front.

    Nice boat and nice truck!

Yeah, welcome to the internet right? Not meaning to be negative or trash your stuff. It's a good looking boat and truck for sure. Just had the appearance of a lot of squat in that pic which set off the squat, payload, towing, and lift police immediately. Enjoy your stuff and ignore the noise.
