When I found the rust in my bed I thought I paid too much last February for my 2007 DC 4X4 in Portland OR. I'm thinking now that $12,300 is still OK. The rust isn't too terrible.

Is your truck from out East? Did you buy it from a car lot? I know those bastards push off Canada trucks like nobody’s business.

No, I bought it from a private party and they bought it from the original local owner. There's no record of it coming from north of the border.

I'm glad you're feeling better about the rust issue. Keep us updated in one of the rust repair threads on getting it fixed. I hope it's simple and easy.

No, I'm not really going to repair it, at least not cut metal and reweld. I just don't have the skill for that and I think it'll be very expensive to having someone else do the work right. It might be less expensive to just get another bed if I can find an undamaged one the same color.

I paid 21,000 for a 09 Warrior in excellent shape with 64 k on it 3 years ago. That was after I got rid of my 16 Tacoma and paid cash for the Tundra. I wish I would have gotten a new Tundra rather then the minivan engine Tacoma in the first place.

I still kinda wish I got a Tacoma instead of Tundra. The Tundra is a lot larger than I expected. It's hard to park sometimes or back up. And yes, the fuel economy sucks.
I was a bit shocked that when I compared it to my Excursion. They are very close dimensionally but the Excursion is and drives and handles much more heavily.
The only reason I got the Tundra instead of a Tacoma was that Tacoma crew cabs were more expensive in my area than the Tundra I found.

I too was shopping for Tacomas. They were same or more money than the similar years Tundra as well. Tacoma would have probably worked fine but I was pleasantly surprised with the Tundra.

The Tundra is a much more capable Truck. The Tacoma gas mileage is not much better than the Tundra's. I wish the Tacoma had a better engine and transmission combination.

Yes you can carry a lot more and passengers sit more comfortably in a Tundra. The console is just so much wasted space though. I've seen a member here that has a DC with a front bench seat and column shifter. I would have loved that in mine but I didn't even know that was an option.
I think they could have put V8's in Tacomas just as easily as they did 4runners. That's what they really need.

The 4.7 v8 would have been a great choice for the Tacoma. I had it in the 4 runner and that was a great engine.

Bought mine in 2018 for $19k, in immaculate condition. 4x4 Limited, 5.7L, with the lift, tires, tonneau cover, tint, and headlights. Caught the guy in a rush to get money but I could sell it for more than that since I've kept it in good condition.

Feeling confident that I could sell it here in Virginia for at least $21k.

I've wanted to own a V8 before they stop putting them in vehicles and also have some utility, which I definitely use.

All but one of my vehicles have V8's. The one that isn't is an Acura MDX with a V6.(wife's car)

Same here. Tacomas in the mid teens had 200K+ miles on them. I found my Tundra with 60K miles for $15,000. Yes it's huge, but its limited use. My son will probably put the most mileage driving it back and forth to school.

i bought my 08 new and have a ton of $$ into the build so if i ever thought of selling i'd ask $80k just so i can tell my wife...."i dunno, no one is buying...looks like you're gonna have to just bury me in it" :p

glad to see how well they retain value.

Dang. I thought I got a reasonable deal before I saw this thread! October 2019 I bought my 2013 CrewMax TRD 4x4, JBL, LTD (tow, sunroof, power rear window, heated seats, etc.) with ARE topper, skid plate, tint with 124k on it for $27.5k. Excellent condition with perfect maintenance record. This is it now with a few mods.

$37K in Nov, '15 for my '13 CrewMax Limited with 30K miles. A leased resell. Near perfect except for stone-chipped windshield. From an independent dealer who sold mostly high-end vehicles. Was an excellent price, according to TrueCar. No complaints from me. Truck's been in TX since built.
