It's very nice and in my opinion better looking than the new tundra, outside at least. Inside is a toss up. The D-max is a nice setup but his trans is alway banging what shifted from park to drive or reverse. Doesn't inspire confidence in that new 10 speed. Also a rubber belt soaked in oil to drive the oil pump is also stupid. You know Chevy could have put a chain. There are gimmick things they put in and do away with useful things, that I dont understand. Like no dimming rearview mirror on a $68k truck, come on. Toyota did the same with the SR5, did away with driver power seat after having it as a standard feature for so long. Guess they took it out of the Tundra and gave it to the Taco for a while.

I use to be chevy till the whole bankruptcy thing. Seems after that shit just went down hill. I owned a 08 Tahoe and a 2010 Traverse. Been with a Tundra or Tacoma since 08. Now a days it seems like toss up though but I dont think I would venture far from Toyota.

The Toyota dealer by me (Courtsey Toyota in Brandon FL) https://www.courtesytoyota.com/ has two TRD Pros inbound. The dealer stated they mark up the TRD Pro $2500 over MSRP.

I was a Ford diesel guy for 30 years....with the price of fuel, went looking...I'm from NJ but you don't want to buy here....went to Vermont and paid msrp and no BS, fuel mileage on the Ford was better than the Tundra Pro I now own..but reg fuel is a lot cheaper ... I'm very happy with the Tundra

    Howdy folks!

After having no success in Fla. or S.C. of getting a dealer to come off their MSRP+++ price, I listened to Asleepinthecove's suggestion. I reached out to Rebecca at Courville Toyota in Opelousas Louisiana. https://www.courvelletoyota.com/ I was up front about being out of state, and willing to travel to her location. After a few emails, she said they'd sell a new 2024 Tundra TRD Pro for MSRP, plus a $425 doc fee, plus my state/county tax, title and tag cost. Some have posted that they were able to save a grand or two off MSRP, but compared to the other four selling price deals I've been offered, I feel good about this. In addition to the other dealers I contacted adding several thousand dollars to MSRP, they also had much higher dealer/doc fees (as much as ~$3k). I called and spoke with Rebecca to give them my down payment over the phone. They said it could be up to 90 days before they receive the truck (since it'll be coming in through their allocation from Toyota). I'll let y'all know how things work out.

    Cheers!

I bought my 2024 TRD Pro from Toyota of Pasadena (SoCal). MSRP was $75k with port-installed running boards and black tailgate letter decals. The dealer installed about $5k worth of accessories that I couldn’t opt out of. Wheel locks, Paint protection, anti-theft device, etc. They clearly marked up these add-ons but it’s better than a 8-15k market adjustment that I’ve seen at other local dealerships. Ended up paying just under 80k before tax and license

Folks have the option to not buy 60-80k trucks but they choose to anyway. The golden rule is something is worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it. If enough folks are willing to pony up crazy money the prices will continue to rise.

I needed to replace my truck recently and my solution was simple - I paid cash for a very nice 2019 Tundra Limited rather than buy a new truck. I could have bought new and still managed to pay cash but but new truck prices are at FU money levels and I don't have FU money. The 2019 will work for me just fine. :)

Just purchased my 2024 Tundra SR 4x4 long bed a week ago Fairfax VA $1750 below invoice. Used the $1000 Toyota rebate and $750 military cash. Doc fee was high at 900.

Toyota financing rate was high but already sent payoff check to finance with my credit union.

Out door price tax title license $45340…SR tow package, side steps, spray bed liner, chrome exhaust, floor mats and a couple of other minor factory add ons.

    MSRP $47,682

I got ~13.2% off MSRP for a '24 Tundra SR5 Crewmax TRD Offroad 4x4 5.5ft bed in early October 2023. I was at a Toyota dealership looking at USED vehicles and had ZERO intention of buying a new vehicle...until the salesperson mentioned they could work up some serious discounts on 2024 Tundras because they had excess inventory in Texas. I needed a truck asap, as my wife totaled her car and was using my F350 for the time being. I ended up shopping nearly every Toyota dealership within 1.5 hour drive from Houston, Texas (predominantly over the phone, expressing how rapidly I needed a vehicle). One dealer offered 9.49% off MSRP, but the color wasn't my favorite and I thought I could do better. I ended up going with Bryan-College Station Toyota. Easy transaction. $61,978 sticker (before TTL), negotiated down to $53,799 (before TTL), approximately 13.2% off MSRP. PLEASE NOTE, if the dealer had not originally added a B.S. charge of $2000 to the MSRP for a 5-year GPS anti-theft module & locator service, the true sticker price would have been $59,978, thus I got approximately 9% off the true sticker price. See tip #2 below for more detail.
    A few tips/learning lessons:
    1. Negotiating over the phone and by email is less stressful than going in person. Identify exactly what you want first before you start the phone/email process. I did visit 2 dealerships during the process and called another 4 or 5. If a dealership won't send you the drive out price and asks you to come into the dealership instead, do not waste your time. They will bait and switch when you arrive and try to exhaust you. The particular dealership that tried this game with me is known for using that sales strategy successfully. I dealt with them 20 years ago and they haven't changed a bit, so I took my business elsewhere.
    2. Do NOT pay extra for a special vehicle GPS/locator (i.e. Guidepoint GPS nor any other brand) that some dealerships will claim is mandatory. You already have vehicle location services (in case of theft) via Toyota Connected Services. The dealerships knows this but will still actively push this additional cost of $1500-$2000 because it makes them so much money. If the particular dealership won't budge, look elsewhere. The one I worked with agreed to remove that charge
    3. I did not pay attention to the bed size on the truck I finally bought (5.5ft). Pros: the Tundra bed is deep, and a 5.5ft bed gets you a marginally better turning radius over the 6.5 ft bed. Cons: once I added my retractable bed cover (RetraxPro XR), it reduced to 4.5 ft. And the 6.5 ft bed on the crewmax sets the rear wheel back a bit further to look more proportional to the truck, at least for the crewmax. In sum, I wish I had gotten the 6.5ft.
    4. Try to avoid paying extra for window tint, even if it says "ceramic" window tint. You will get an inferior quality tint. In the case of "ceramic", you will get an inferior quality of ceramic tint. You DO want ceramic tint, but I would suggest a middle grade to best grade of tint which you will not get when it's part of the MSRP. You will need to go to an independent tint shop for that.
    Hope this helps. -Ed

I recently received an email from my dealer that I skimmed and trashed quickly. They were reaching out trying to get me to trade in my ‘22 for a ‘24. I believe I saw that they would match my current interest rate on a new truck . But because I skimmed and trashed the message quickly I guess I am not sure I read that right. Has anybody heard of this before? Is that possible with the way current rates are? Thanks.

First post from this newbie. Traded in my 2020 Tacoma during Thanksgiving week for a 2023 Platinum w/ 6.5 bed in MGM. The 6.5 bed was important and they're hard to find near me so I jumped on it. MSRP was 69k but my only local dealer had a 4k markdown to get rid of their last '23s. Dealer wouldn't budge anymore but in reality they don't have to right now. Paid $65k for a pretty loaded truck and luckily it was exactly what I wanted with bed length, crewmax, color, options, etc...minus the TRD lift that they wanted 6k for parts/labor.

Maybe it was somewhat of a sales tactic but the dealer mentioned prices are only going to keep going up next few years with the new UAW contract making the labor to build them cost more, seems plausible.

Anything plausible in today's economy. I mean who would have thought a 1/2 would cost what they do and aren't even worth it. What the salesman should worry about is prices reaching a point where sales will plummet and they are left finding another job. I personally won't buy new again. No way is my payment going to be more than my mortgage. And no way am I playing the keeping up with the Jones game.

So what you are going to do is overpay for a used vehicle which you know nothing about how it was maintained? You can buy what you want but unless you are looking at 20+ year old vehicles there is really no realization of value at that point. Insurance is high, taxes are high, everything is high so you are going to buy a used vehicle which isn't worth what you are paying for it due to the market. Then you are going to drive that used vehicle another 100-200k miles which will need stuff done to it that a new vehicle probably wouldn't. There is no free great used vehicle that is going to save you enough or not cost you enough to offset the price of a new vehicle. Most all dealerships are given discounts on in stock units similar to what they did pre covid. You can sell used vehicles high right now and continue to do so. Unless things come more in line with used vehicle prices, you are going to be overpaying on them as well.

I can tell you that here where I live no dealer is overpaying for any vehicle right now. Also most dealers are being left holding their inventory right now because they are overpriced, new and used. My tundra isn't worth what I could have gotten back when they where overpaying. At the rate that I put miles in my truck, average 10k a year, do the math on how long I can keep it. And with it's reliability what's the cost of ownership. After that I will looked into another used low milage vehicle which will still be cheaper than a new one regardless. Regardless if it new or used, used will still be a cheaper payment, period. And someone else took the depression hit. I have had roughly 40+ cars in my life so far, new, used, POS, etc. I can say with certainly that the new vehicle unicorns and rainbows feeling fades and your left with a high payment. Like I said, to me, there is nothing in these new 1/2 tons that make them cost $50k for a base SR5 to $70+++ for the upper trims.

Edit. Only way I would buy new again is if my salary jumps as high as inflation.

I just got a 2024 Tundra Platinum w/TRD package in Magnetic Gray in Austin, TX area for about $7k off MSRP (which included factory/dist/dealer add-ons). Found some similar discounts available on '24 Limiteds with TRD + Lift package (one in Austin, one in Denton (Dallas area)). Those 2 weren't even at dealer yet but had advertised lower prices. The one I got wasn't advertised at lower price but was easy to get from internet sales guy, especially since it had been on lot for over a month. Also that dealer doesn't typically advertise the lower prices from what I've seen whereas the other 2 do and are also Smartpath dealers FWIW.

Picked up our 24’ Limited with OR TRD package on 11-25-23 from Autonation in Vegas. MSRP was $65,508 and dealer addons (tint, appear protection, dent protection, and tailgate letter inserts) added it up to $67,584. They took off all the addons and sold it for $62,375, so $5,209 off. And then they gave us about $1500 more than what our trade was worth per KBB, so in my head they really gave us $6709 off. Out the door with our trade and some down payment, got $439/mo for 84mo but we will be prolly paying it off within the year. I think we did pretty good?

2024 Limited 4x4 paid MSRP. However, the dealer threw in a pair of assist steps for free. He also gave me 3.5K more for my trade than it booked for in "very good" condition on KBB.

So basically $60K out the door. I think the lowest I have seen so far is $58K but it's possilbe that truck had fewer options (no JBL for example). Wondering if anyone else is getting a new Limited TRD OR Crewmax for less than that?

I had a dealer offered a 2023 platinum in Tacoma, Wa for 61k, roughly 6k off msrp last week.
However, I’m in the market for a2024 limited with 6.5bed and off rd pkg. looking to get 5k off msrp and visiting a couple of dealerships this Friday.

I would imagine these discounts are for in stock units only, any one getting discounts on allocated or ordered units?

My discount was on an allocated truck. Not in route yet from Texas but allocated to dealership. Did have to put down $500 to “hold”….that was taken off final purchase price.

Raptor was better equipped but felt cheaper quality wise and had a lot of quirks I hated. The Raptor would be better for off-roading and the TRD Pro is better for everyday usage if I were to summarize it.
