The asking price of an Tacoma SR5 TRD Sport 4X4 was identical to a Tundra SR5 4x4. $57500

24 Limited Crewmax 4x4 Hybrid w/TRD Pro Off Road Package $69,496 OTD no trade. Cash. Inc the $1500 Toy National Cash Rebate.

Found myself on the spreadsheet but I guess my dealer didn't report the sales price to see what the actual $ amount discount was.

Lot was empty except for used and about 50 Tundras.

Apologies if this should be in a different thread. Looking to get back in a Tundra. I have the following offer from a local dealer:

    2024 Limited Crew Max
    MSRP $62900
    Discount $6000

    No Dealer Add-ons

Is this decent considering the seemingly surplus inventory?

I'd say it's not a bad deal. It would be much better deal if the truck had TRD Off Road package at that price.

Really depends on location it seems. Some dealers are doing insane discounts while others are in the 5-6k range. I paid around 62500 for my limited crew max long bed hybrid, with a bunch of options on it. Saved about 4700 bucks which I was ok with cause I needed the long bed. I’d save if that is a non hybrid, it seems like a solid deal to me.

My region currently offers 2.99/3.49/3.99 for 36/48/60, respectively.

Its the end of the month so ask them to beat the 6k offer they gave you with the promise to close the deal before Apr 1st.

They’ve offered 10% off MSRP, so a few hundred more off.

If it was me, I'd go back and say 12% and maybe settle at 11% if they throw in a few oil changes etc. OR, wait it out another month. Not sure how eager you are to get inside one.

Here is an example from Canada. 2024 Limited Nighshade Edition 4X4 Cremax for $73,903 CDN which is currently $54,742 US. They have more wiggle room. If Toyota can sell them at that price here in US dollars why not in your own Country where they make them?

Welp, my Tacoma is sold. 6+ years, 50k miles, an accident later and I came out $5.7k ahead of what I paid for it in 2017 OTD. Pretty unique situation I’m in but ended up worth it in the end. Sold it to a Chevy dealer. Would have made even more selling private but there is a platinum in lunar rock with my name on it that has to be looked at by tomorrow.

The dealer is still at $8.5k without rebate or $9.5k with rebate off msrp. Probably will do the $8.5k off and get Toyotas 2.25% APR. No brainer to finance some at that low of a rate. Just have to hope all goes smoothly tomorrow. Dealers can be slimy.

Drove from FL to SC to get a new TRD PRO under msrp and it included quite a few extras too. Their dealership fee was also half the price and they matched my trade in offer. Was pretty damn happy cuz in Orlando dealers had 5-10k markups or included a whole bunch of junk like nitrogen tires, ambient lightning, tint, etc...

*Back in front of PC finally. Truck drove great on my short drive home! Ended up getting $8,530 off MSRP as they had to adjust the warranty from $750 to $780. Guess it wouldn't make someone happy going below the $780. Interesting as thats where Jerry sits so maybe there is a reason for that. Either way it is the same deal for me. I highly recommend the two guys I dealt with at Capitol Toyota. If anyone wants their contact info let me know.*

Finishing up paperwork on my 2024 Platinum. $8.5k off msrp. Over 12.5% off msrp. Didn’t go for the additinal $1k off that as I wanted Toyotas APR. 2.25% APR for 48m. Financed some at that rate as my money will make way more than that for me.

Got to the warranty talk. Told him 7yr 75k miles I might be interested in. Dealers offer: $3,300 for 7yr 75k platinum $0 deductible…. Ha! Got my phone out. Showed them the quote from Jerry without showing his info @ $780. The manager said not possible for them to match. Salesman was like they have to be losing money.

Manager came back a few mins later and said screw it we are beating that other dealer. $750 for the 7yr 75k miles lol Platinum with $0 deductible.

Yeah, I should go buy some lottery tickets today.

Edit: My salesman mumbled that he didn’t even get that discount with his rig. He wasn’t too happy. He was legit upset. Didn’t want to talk more about how they went so low.

I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger. I'm trading in a 2019 Tacoma TRD OR 4WD.

    MSRP 63,054.

Dealer is offering me 60k even for a 24 Limited Crewmax, TRD OR package 4WD. Is this a good deal? Should I jump on it? Also, Toyota has a promo 2.25 financing for 48months which seems to be pretty good, lasts only until end of April so I have a few more days.

    Located in Southern CA.

I think for California $3k off MSRP is probably good. However, they could be getting you on the trade in.. In OR i could have gotten a limited for $6-7k off MSRP without much work earlier this month. Ended up with a platinum at over $8.5k off. Oregon is a bit of a drive for you though.

Yeah, they want to give me 31k for the Tacoma, which I think its on the lower end of trade in value. I could maybe try to squeeze them for another 1-2k. I know out of state people are getting like 6-7k off MSRP, I dont think that's possible here in So Cal.

Ugh, thats rough. I got $30.5k for my 2018 SR5 with 50k on it and an accident just a few weeks ago. That is where they are getting you for sure.

Don't do it. You can get it for Invoice or less. I negotiated a Limited TRD OR Hybrid for $500 below invoice in socal and still didn't buy it. Use the Edmunds build and price tool to find out what the invoice is on your truck. You should be in the $58k range with invoice.

Edmunds is not accurate and neither is your estimate from Edmunds, the MSRP is 2K higher than it states in your quote.

He missed a few check boxes. After doing so, the MSRP in edmunds matched the window sticker. What part of edmunds are you referring to is not accurate?

Edmunds isn't right nor is it anything dealers actually use, the MSRP for 24 non hybrid, 4dr crewmax 5.5 foot bed is $2k higher than Edmunds listed. Dealers still use Kelly Bluebook especially the black book to value trades and give estimates. Carvana is also an accurate used vehicle value estimator. The base MSRP is $58900 not $56900. This could be inflation from when it was updated but it is not correct.

One is the window sticker for the truck on the lot right now and the other is Edmunds. You're telling me the dealer is lying on their window sticker? We're talking about the price of the new truck, not his trade in. Invoice is $58,233.
