its the 55, walmart $97. Good reviews
Keeps ice great for the price. Solid sides/ top, stand on it, stable.

Cons: its heavy, The handles are poorly designed, a piece of pvc around a rope basically- so its a cumbersome move, wrestling it around. Use it for base camp, then a smaller 20qt Orca or Treeline for driving and the boating/fishing

A lot of good setups in here and a lot of good advice.

The only snippet is see kind of missing is what your style of camping is.

Do you base camp in the same location for a few days at a time? - ground tent rules here. Or any of those bed tents, trailers, RVs or whatever.

Do you move locations every day? - this is the use case for RTT.

There are differences among RTTs also. Some of the soft side folders take a bit of time to setup and put away. Typically still faster than a ground tent (except a gazelle or similar).

Most of the hard shell RTT and GFC/FWC/Atlas campers are super fast to open and close. It can be possible to base camp with a hard shell or camper style since they’re quick and not too irritating to open/close, but that will depend on your personal threshold for bullshit. My wife and I have an extremely low bullshit tolerance, so we went with a hard shell RTT. It sets up in under a minute, and packs in about two minutes. That’s without rushing and racing. We’re outside camping in order to relax.

But on the topic of racing, we do like to go fast out there when we’re driving. And we like hitting the hard trails and getting to those hard to reach beautiful places. The hard shell fit that bill for us as well. Mounted it down low so the off road performance isn’t impacted too poorly.

If you’re dipping your toes in and trying it out, be sure to note any of the little irritating things, and think about if those could be solved with a slightly different style solution than whatever you start with. I see a lot of people start with a cheap version of something, then discard the entire concept because the cheap thing they tested isn’t quite as nice as a more expensive version. For us, minutes mattered, so we like the hard shell.

Yes, has a 3.0L V6 and gets around 14 MPGs but it only has 1500 miles. Sure beats the old Class A we had with a 8.1L GM which got 6-7 MPGs.

It’s a Jotto Cargo Slide. The light duty one made of aluminum. Of all the ridiculous shit we’ve done to the truck (fridge, central tire inflation, hot running water,...) the slide is still my favorite thing.

Did a write up in our thread. (I still haven’t installed the replacement because we moved to Ohio. It’s in storage back in AZ).

How Dafuq are you allowed to pull another trailer behind a travel trailer? To my knowledge, the only way you're allowed to do that is if the first trailer is a fifth wheel. And that's not even allowed in all jurisdictions.

    Anyway, here's mine:

    20200814-143940_be5ebeb6f7e6ca9d8dc9cd95099fc743c74fa4b6.jpg

I like my Pop-Up because I can put bikes on top of the trailer, or if I'm only carrying 2 bikes, then the canoe goes on the trailer between the bikes, putting it behind the truck, which helps fuel economy greatly. When I have the canoe on top of the trailer (with 2 bikes), I'll average about 15L/100km (15.6mpg). With the canoe on top of the truck as pictured, I'll do closer to 18L/100km (13mpg).

Just depends on the state. GTG in Montana, Idaho...not sure where else. Only plan to tow the double setup in those two states, and eventually will replace with a 5th wheel toy-hauler someday most likely.
