Caught the original Nosferatu 1922 with Max Schreck as Nos.. Silent film, creepy, and for the folks that saw this in the theater back when it was new, probably scared the wit's out of them.

 

Top Hat (1935). OK website. On the second group entering the US National Film Registry. I did not enjoy it much.

Tour de France coverage of Stage 4 on NBC Sports, Chris Horner/YouTube & Wedu/YouTube. No change in overall standings. The big news is that Mark Cavendish won his 35th stage win, a TDF record. It was starting to look like it would never happen. He had rough starts in first four stages and was skunked in the last two TDFs. He is now the second oldest rider to win a stage and his record looks to stand a long time.

 

Started The Bear season 3.
Episode One, recap Carmy's training in random back and forth from flashback to real time with this sickening Hallmark Channel piano soundtrack in the background.
Episode Two. Everyone arguing to the point of nausea without one mention of what happened to the Mother from season 2, it's like they are making this shit to see how far they can push the viewer and think they will keep watching. I'm done. Turning off Hulu now to go to Apple TV to see stuff there.

The Petrified Forest (1936). On OK website. Another little gem from the 1930’s. The title is relevant but makes for an odd title on this film.

Freiheit (Freedom; 2017). Tubi. A sad but very intriguing film. A woman abandons her family and career to pursue her freedom.

Wife and I are watching the Presumed Innocent series on Apple TV. Not bad so far.

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3 the other night - that was pretty good. Lots of cute little @Outbound’s in there.

Wings (1927). Tubi. Good plane flying sequences and stunts. Won the first Academy award, and, until 2011, the only silent film to do so.

The Philadelphia Story (1940). Tubi. Entertaining lovey dovey story with Katherine Hepburn, Gary Cooper and James Stewart, who won an Oscar for his performance.

Tour de France coverage. Stages 13 & 14. Into the steep mountains, Vingegaard jumps to second but Pogacar extends his lead.

Started The Chosen season 4 last night till news broke. Will try again cause it's 100+ with 90% humidity and we ain't doing shit in this heat.

 

The Broadway Melody (1929). On OK website. Winner of the second Oscar for best picture, and first ‘talkie’ to win it. Mediocre film.

The Eugenics Crusade (2017). PBS American Experience. Very well done documentary and fascinating subject matter.

American Jorgenson came second in today’s stage and went up the overall rankings from 12th to 9th. He is in third place for the white jersey which recognizes riders 26 years or younger with lowest overall time.
