What are you streaming/watching?

Soundbars have come a long way. I demo'd a Samsung - yes, a Samsung - that had Atmos capability in a semi-properly treated room, and I couldn't believe my ears. For not having any back speakers, the reflective technology was convincing.

The OLED is definitely better than my prior Samsung 8000 Series QLED in darker scenes, but they're also not supposed to be that great in bright rooms. My main room gets pretty bright during the day, but I've had no problems seeing the OLED even in darker scenes, and it's actually more visible than the ol Samsung which was only an edge-lit display.

For real. I tried so hard not to look into it beforehand with promos and stuff on YouTube so I could get the full surprise of it.

it took me for a few loops. Definitely not what I expected and still left me with a few questions at the end.

 

I do the same. I like to go in blind.

I loved the first Doctor Strange and was pumped for the sequel. And while I did actually enjoy Wanda's story arc, what bothered me about the movie was

how much of a back seat Strange took. As an origin story in the first film, his character was arguably the best written and acted in the MCU. After seeing Strange's arrogant genius get humbled and then learn who he needed/wanted to be, and then hardly expand on it in the sequel was the biggest disappointment to me. Feels like the character is just riding the momentum now, which sadly also seems to be the direction the MCU is going.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of the new Obiwan Kenobi series on Disney. It’s decent! And I’m sure it will get better.

So easy to do these days with the convenience of streaming. We wrapped up Ozark I think at 2 am over the holiday weekend, and fortunately for that or I'd have been hurting getting up for work if it were during the week.

Yep, the worst thing about a vacation is coming back! But good to hear it was a great one!

I want to start it, but it's been a while. Kind of feel like I need a re-watch the previous seasons.

 

Wife and I just finished last night season 1 of stranger things. On to season 2

 

We binged it over the weekend. Half-way through I felt like I should have re-watched at least the last season. I might do that before the next half premieres since it's still fresh in my mind.

 

I just watched a super shrunken man explode out of the urethra of another man's penis, turning the other man into Bishop when he got cut in half by the Queen in Aliens. One of the top 5 most disturbing things I've ever seen on TV or IRL.
