What are you streaming/watching?

Yeah, I liked it. Got kind of deep there for a bit with a lot of personal stuff but stuff like that happens. Crazy for the amount of time he's been going.

 

For sure, it's easy to forget that they have the same every day experiences apart from all the fame.

I'm also a native Southern Californian, and watching it really brought me back to growing up out here. I never really got into skate boarding (apart from being a wannabe), but his name was everywhere and resounded throughout the surfing community, as well as other sports I got into like football and baseball. The dude is/was immortal.

It was also cool to see other skaters who built a name for themselves, or at least were popular here in SoCal, like Steve Caballero. I'd forgotten a lot of those other guys. I had a friend of a friend that used to hang with Steve whenever he was in town, but I never got to meet him. Another popular guy in SoCal was Ray "Bones" Rodriguez. I was friends with his little brother growing up. Not sure whatever happened to him. I half-expected him to show up in the film, but didn't see him.

I really liked this too! I grew up skating in the 80's & 90's and all these guys were my idols. I had major nostalgia watching this. I was the kid in the neighborhood that built the ramps and had the jumps into the pool. Crazy shit my folks allowed!

 

I love the Mummy movies. So much fun.

 

Absolutely. For as over the top as the sequel was at the time, it's still way fun. I love the Johnathan character too, hilarious.

Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut

Just picked this one up on 4k blu-ray. Great film, and has never looked better with 4k HDR. And the whole surfing thing with Kilgore after Johnson shows up is still just priceless.

Just finished watching the most recent season of Top Boy on Netflix. Such an awesome show. They just announced the next season will be the final one.

 

The Hunger Games (4k blu-ray)

 

I re-watched " The world's fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins, very simple but great film, recommend you guys give it a look if you haven't already.
What blows my mind is the guy went back to Bonneville salt flats and did it again 9 more times @ 68 years old, incredible feat.

I haven’t seen that in well over a decade. I put it on my watch list

 

The wife and I are fans as we'd read the books. It's interesting to watch it now with all that's happened in the world the last couple of years.
