What are you grilling today?

He's got this "Hurry up and take the freakin' picture so I can eat!" look about him.

 

Exactly what I was thinking.

 

Last minute idea on the weber..

 

Grilled some pork chops on the little tabletop smoker.

 

That little guy looks like it'd fit perfectly in the center console

 

Recieved a dry aged pork chop from a neighbor a while back. Did a dry rub on it, grilled at 275 until hit a temp of 129. Pulled it off and seared with the flame thrower. Made a honey and maple syrup glaze that I reduced on a pan and poured some whiskey in and lit it. The pork cut with a fork. I now want to try dry aged beef.

Never too cold to grill.

 

I bought a brisket flat a few days ago, cut and marinated it. Today it became smoked brisket jerky. I cut a few pieces a little thicker than I wanted but it came out great.

 

Have this 2.4lbs tomahawk steak on the grill. It is about 2.5" thick! Got to love Costco thick cut steaks.

 

Time to eat!

 

No pics because they came out terrible. Tried to smoke some tilapia on the rectec and good lord it’s like I was eating a used KO2 tire tread. Bleh

 

Curious as to what the temp was? I was going to smoke a loin today but the temp was -7...too cold for me

 

What part of the UP are you in? I went to Northern for a semester and then hightailed it back to Michigan State. It was so damn cold...

I graduated northern.

 

I loved the campus and the area (especially Lake Superior), I just couldn't handle the winter I grew up about 20 miles south of the bridge. The Army dropped me off in Texas and I never left. It was around 70 here today - I couldn't handle the UP cold back then, I know I couldn't now. Stay warm!

 

It wasn't bad at all, think around 17° yeah -7 might be too cold to grill and enjoy it anyways

 

My wife and I are looking to leave Michigan. Tx is on the short list. The weather is not the issue here but we could use more warm if that is one of the unintended benefits

 

I can tell you that I’ve met more people from Michigan in Texas than when I actually lived in Michigan. It's such a huge state with so many different areas and personalities. I can tell that when it's cold here, it's a sucky humid cold that sticks to your skin. It's not as much fun as the cold in Michigan, if you find it fun.

 

We make the cold work for us. Snowmobiling and skiing and ice fishing.

 

I miss cross country skiing and I miss the fall colors.
