Do you notice that big of a difference in Snake River compared to grocery store or prime beef?

Typically they are really good cuts of meat and if cooked well I do think you can taste/feel a difference side by side. Having said that I do believe they are also a bit hyped up and like anything else you can sometime get a shit cut especially because you are not picking as you would at the store they just ship you the type of cut you order. I've told them it was a bad cut and they sent another for free so customer service is good. Is it worth it? Not to me for day to day knowing how much I grill/smoke, but every now and then I'll order some nice cuts. They have sales and coupons so when those come out I go in on a large order ($500-600) with a buddy. They do tend to be really rich and a little goes a long way so I usually order smaller portions than the grocery store. Prob a longer answer than you were looking for but I would recommend giving them a try next time you want to splurge a bit, some of the best steaks I've made have been from there.

no that is good. That answers my question. I was thinking about ordering some for the next special occasion.

My buddy order pork from here:

    https://www.compartduroc.com/

He says on a sliding scale that their pork is better than anything in store compared to SRF compared to grocery store. I want to try some of it real soon also.

Does anyone grill veggies? If so how do you do it without burning them and what do you use for seasoning?

I toss them in a bowl with a little olive oil and usually use salt and pepper. Sometimes a little garlic salt or powder.

I grill veggies all the time. Some are better done over indirect heat to prevent burning, but some can be done over coals or gas grill direct heat.
Sometimes I will put potatoes in the microwave with a cup of water for about 5 minutes so it is almost done and then put them on the grill to finish, especially with steaks or something that does not stay on the grill for very long. On the smoker where I have time I do the whole cook on the grill. Most of my grilling lately have been indirect heat on the pellet grill, but I have found a few direct heat veggies, mostly done in a grilling basket to keep it from falling through the grates.

    Potatoes on the smoker:
    upload_2020-4-16_15-6-55.jpg

Potatoes on smoker, but in pan with the meat drippings. I had the meat on top of the potatoes for first half of the cook:
    upload_2020-4-16_15-7-28.jpg

Potatoes in grilling basket. This can be done on direct heat.
    upload_2020-4-16_15-8-9.jpg

Corn, beans asparagus etc. usually done in a foil pan in butter. Still gets the smoke/grill flavor but does not dry out.
    upload_2020-4-16_15-8-41.jpg

Corn on the cob works great on the grill.
    upload_2020-4-16_15-12-39.jpg

Broccoli works great with direct heat:
    upload_2020-4-16_15-14-48.jpg

    Cauliflower over direct heat:
    upload_2020-4-16_15-16-18.jpg

Onions and mushrooms work great over direct heat.
    upload_2020-4-16_15-17-11.jpg

more onions and potatoes on direct heat.

Usually any time I have something on the grill or smoker, I try to add at least one or both sides. Partially because I hate doing dishes and having multiple fuel sources going but usually because they taste better done outside

If I'm smoking meat, I will try and not smoke the vegetables because it can be overwhelming for some with a smoked side and a smoked main. But I can often grill the vegetables on my Ceramic Cooker by jacking up the heat after the meat comes off to rest (if resting) and do vegetables over direct coals.

Lots options for actual vegetable or cooking methods. A couple of our favorites:. Grilled asparagus, smoked baked potato, grilled onions, grilled grilled fresh pineapple, grilled apple slices, grilled bananas (many of these get tossed in brown sugar, liquors etc), corn on cob (over ng or charcoal). Heck, they're all good and fruits too.

I know this is a grilling thread but since this whole stay at home crap has started I found a new love for fried food which we hardly ever do at home under normal circumstances. Curly fries and fried banana fritters topped with powdered sugar and Nutella

    I've been baking

Used up some bananas on the counter and made Banana crisp, 1 banana per ramekin. Topped with whipped cream (from an Isi) and ate warm. A nice 15min dessert.

No fast food, no bakery visits, no donuts. Have to make it at home to fill my junk food needs.

Some burgers. My wife had a moment and got 73/27 when I asked for 93/7 for jerky. I used the extra fatty ground beef for burgers today, and they were awesome. I had to learn on the fly about how to handle them on the grill, but it was worth it.
