Lamb rack for Valentine's dinner. Started low and slow in the smoker and then finished on a hot charcoal grill. Served with heart shaped potatoes and a salad.

Happy Valentine's Day boys!!!! Wife and daughter left early this morning for a cheerleading competition in Atlanta, GA. I got my 2 year old son this weekend. Put him down at 8:30 and fired up the Yoder. Slow smoked for 40 minutes, pulled off and cranked up to 450 degrees. Put a light seat on the steak. Pulled off once internal temp hit about 122. Let rest for 15 minutes and now it is time to eat! Got a couple bottles of wine to try with the steaks.

I actually got the steaks from a local butcher shop that has a really nice custom state of the art dry aging room. Not cheap, but treating myself tonight. 10:00pm and it is finally time to dig in!

Here's a whole dinner cooked on the pellet smoker tonight. Green beans: Sauteed onions and garlic with salt & pepper. Add green beans. When almost done add quartered grape tomatoes with more salt & pepper to taste. Sweet corn: just add butter, salt & pepper, and a little mixed herbs for looks. Lamb chops and brats. Served with beet salad. Leftover brats & beans with yesterday's leftover potatoes for lunches tomorrow.

Looking for grill recommendations. I have a charmglow all stainless that I got 15 years ago at home depot for less than $500. It's a 3 burner with a side burner. This is the best grill ever! Changed the burners 3 times in 15 years still looks new. I just got a natural gas line run to the deck but the theres no conversion kit to change from LP to NG. I'm at the point where I need new burners again so I don't want to spend the money if I'm getting a new grill. Any grill under $1,500 looks and feels cheap. I'm looking for a well made grill for less than $800. Any suggestions?

This doesn't really answer your question since it seems like you are looking for a gas grill, but, I own 9 grills (wood, charcoal, gas, pellet, electric, smokers etc.). I used to alternate between gas and charcoal, but since I got my pellet smoker/grill I have hardly touched any of the other grills. I grill/smoke about 5 times a week and use the pellet grill 90% of the time. Just to throw another option out there.

But, as far as gas grills go, you are right, they all feel cheap. I ended up buying cheap $200 walmart models and replace them every 3 years since it seems like the more expensive ones are not going to last more than 3 years anyway. Since I have a grill problem I will probably buy a Weber Genesis at some point, but that's $1,000. I can buy 5 cheap ones at 3 years each for that money.

I use the gas grill as a quick after work short on time grill. Weekends I use a wood fired grill. Even the Weber is shitty. Here is a pic of my current grill.

It is, its called the Sportsmans Grill (I think). I like it quite a bit. I made a platform for it with a work table and ceramic tiles which puts it at the perfect height. I haven't had a chance to take it camping yet but I think it'd be great for that or tailgating.

lobster Mac n cheese is one of my favorite things. Never tried making at home but had it at probably 20+ places out. There is a restaurant in Charleston, SC called The Oak. It is a steakhouse and on the upper hand but the best lobster Mac n cheese in earth!!!! Your post made me think of it!!

I hear ya. I think of Capital Grille. I bought Costco mac n cheese and put it on the smoker for an hour then threw the lobster in. Later I’ll cover with panko and put under the broiler

Is it frozen in the freezer section and you unreal it, or is it premade in the deli and meats section?
