Speaking of brats, I have a pretty decent recipe and need to try a few others listed above. BTW, Costco does have really good brats and my families favorite for whatever reason.

Anyway, start by cutting up an onion into real thin slices. Put them in the bottom of a large pot, as in one you use to cook spaghetti. Brown the onion with a little butter. You can get it pretty hot and brown it off good. Now put in 2 to 3 bottles of Sam Adams beer and turn the pot in a real low simmer and let the brats heat up in the onion and beer brew for a good solid hour at least. They will get fully cooked in this process. Now get your grill nice and hot. Drop the brats on the grill and sear them off. This process gives it the nice crunch and crisp.

Now put them on a bun with your favorite condiments. As crazy as it sounds, the leftover onion from the beer brew and some spicy mustard is really really good!!!

This is sort of like a reverse searing for brats. For whatever reason, Sam Adams seems like o work real good and cook up good.

I think I found my meal for next Saturday while watching football!!!

Cool. Will try that onion and butter thing. I also recommend poking a small hole or two in the brat to let the juices in :D

    Brats.

Slit them down the center, pack them full of sauerkraut, and wrap them in bacon.

    Good stuff

I need to do this. I've had cedar planks sitting around for years and have just been too lazy to try.

My wife and I are on a quick weekend getaway. My only request for resort selection was that there had to be a grill.
Grilled some ribeyes and onion and a baked potato.

Absolutely nothing special. The wife and kids are away at a early Halloween party so I am home watching football, drinking beer, grilling. No sides just about 20oz. Of filets for me for dinner.

Just set them on the smoker for about 30 to 45 minutes of smoke first. Will pull off, crank up the heat, and sear them off to finish.

Haha, took about 6 months before I finally did. I found a normal YS640 at the local dealer for about $600 less than Yoder direct. The YS640S was coming out and they had to move the last 2 units. I am so glad I did. The comp cart is awesome and makes it a stout unit that will last a long time.
