    Awww Hell No!!!!
We used to go to Galveston and hit San Luis Pass and Gig Flounder.
We'd get there at around 10pm before we'd go out.
You'd take an inner tube and make a bottom for it and set a deep cycle boat battery in it.
It would power your gigging light which was basically a 12 volt light bulb with a back shield to keep the light from shining back in your eyes.
You'd walk around in the shallows looking for flounder tracks.
They'd bury themselves in the sand and wait for something to swim by and ambush it.
They were easy to spot. All you had to do was look for a flounder shape in the sand.
On a good night you could gig a dozen of em!!!
You did have to watch out for StingRays who hunted the same way.
Although were even more obvious than the flounder.
They looked like a weird shaped pan with a handle on em.
Yeah....one of my best friends died from a Heart Attack while Gigging.....
They found him stuck on a sandbar at low tide.
But he died doing what he loved doing....I figure if you're gonna go what better way to die?

Same, it’s all catch and release with me … however, I still enjoy a traditional British (Cod) fish and chips at a seaside restaurant when we visit Monterey Ca.

    Alright....
I'm gonna come right out and say it.
    Thats just weird........
I mean I get it to a certain extent.
My favorite freshwater lake was catch and release.
But you caught MONSTER Sized Bass!!!!
    10 pounders were common.
They did allow you to keep one fish but it had to be 25 inches or longer.
Although I didnt keep those either.
I'd take a pic with a tape measure by the fish as well as a pic with the fish on a hand held scale.
The Taxidermist would make you a replica based off those pics.
If your really into catching big Bass thats where you went!!
Of course you also have Lake Fork in Texas where the State record was caught.
The Wife and I went up there for a trip and hired a guide.
And boy was he pissed when he caught us the next day in our Bass Boat fishing the same holes!!!
    I was like FUCK YOU!!!
I paid my money ($350 bucks) for half a day!!!
And we released all our fish and we've never been back.
It was one of those once in a lifetime trips mainly because I wasnt one to pay for a guide.
We went there because the Bass fishing was legendary!!
Hell I caught bigger bass in my Home waters!!!

Throw them back. fishing isn't about fishing as much as it's a reason to sit by the water and drink beer. This way you are technically doing something other than just drinking beer while in reality you are really just sitting there drinking beer.

The dying part sucks, but flounder gigging is a blast.

Yeah....The Wife and i went to Arkansas on our Honeymoon.
Yeah...we didnt have much money when we got married.
We went their mainly for the fishing.
Hired a guide to take us Striper Fishing,we caught some HUGE Stripers!!!!
It was weird...we caught the same number of fish each and the same weight lb for lb.
I figured it was a good omen for out Marriage.
That was 25 years ago....so I guess it worked.

I think drumsticks are one of the most underrated proteins. Skin-on, bone-in thighs too, but especially drumsticks. Both are so juicy and flavorful, if you know what to do with them. In fact I just picked up a whole case of drumsticks yesterday at a Costco Business Center at only $0.85/lb. Ended up with 111 pieces of chicken for $34! I just vacuum seal and freeze them 10 to a bag.

We'll have quite a few tasty meals from that one purchase between grilling, oven roasting, and my wife making Indonesian fried chicken.

What a great plan. We often shop at Costco like this as well. If I'm eating chicken it's the dark meat, skin on. Most often thighs, but drumsticks aren't far behind.

    Yeah....
"Semi" is a prefix that generally means half, partially, or incompletely.
It's a bit early to be fully inebriated.
