Any tire place probably has them laying around for free if asked nicely I'd imagine.

I had that problem with lug nuts for the Tundra. And after all that, I have no idea what they ordered but what I went to pick up was too small for a Corolla, let alone my truck.

I was just being dramatic with the valve cap analogy (and quantity), but they sure lack critical parts regardless of price or universal fit.

I just need one ac compressor bolt, I'm sure it's nearly universal for toyotas and I have to wait two weeks. :rain:

People who send me a message on Teams with just "Hi Aaron".

Then stop and wait for me to reply asking them what they want instead of just going "Hi Aaron, this is my question blah blah blah".

What are you waiting for? My indicator thingy is green. I'm active. Shoot me your message with your question. We don't need to do the whole back and forth pleasantry crap

I hate Teams. Better yet since 80% of the people who message me are in the dame damn office, get off your ass and come talk to me.

    Office work sucks.

Before I worked here at Ecoological, I contracted for a company that spent stupid amounts of money on the ENTIRE Microsoft Suites package when the only thing they really needed was the Calendar and OneDrive. The only people who used Teams were me, my boss, and one of the managers of the store. I tried to tell them they didn't NEED PowerPoint or half of the products they were paying for, but they insisted they did. They did NOT renew my contract and I'm not sure how they're still in business with the way they spend money. I wasn't even the accountant. One of my many functions was to reduce eCommerce redundancy and spending... I just kept digging up more wasted money.

Yes! People try to lure you in and trap you. Like when people ask you "What do you have going on this (specific date)? What a terrible thing to do to somebody, seriously? I just respond to them "I'm terribly busy that day, but make me an offer anyway."

Teams is the worst networking tool imaginable. Why is it necessary to see everyone's ugly faces? Unless slides are being presented, there is no point. In fact, there is no point, just email the material so people can review or print it before the conversation.

I'm convinced people set up meetings to waste time because they get bored.

I have literally sat in pre-meeting meetings. Yes, you read that correctly. Meetings set up to talk about the things the next meeting will cover. We're not talking a strategy planning session or anything. It's basically like sitting in the same meeting twice.

Meetings are stupid. Teams is stupid. Conference calls are stupid. 90% of office work is a waste of time.

Yeah...I'm having a tough time coming off the tools/in the field and adapting to office culture.

Even if I lived in cold, cold Canada, I might still favor the field work over the office nonsense haha. Hard to say. Office culture is rough.

I honestly miss the days in the field or the shop, even at -40. So you get cold. Big deal, dress for it. That hot shower at the end of the day won't ever feel better. There's sense of achievement at the end of the day I've never felt from work in the office. "I fought through the shit, toughed out the cold and got 'er done today!" feels a hell of a lot better than "I sat in 4 meetings, sent 28 emails and stared at my screen sifting through scheduling documents all day".

People in the field are usually more real too. They'll deal with you in person and don't pull punches, either you're solid in their books or not. Office workers tend to pussy foot around, play politics and be fake-nice all day long.

I strongly feel that people like this need a hard, open handed slap in the face. Then fired. Then forced to work a real job until they learn how to be a person.

So I said basically that one time. Well, I may have said it in more welding shop appropriate language. My manager then pulled me aside and said "While I agree with you, you need to be a little more delicate around here". Apparently I hurt someone's delicate feefees.

75% hardware failure rate on 2nd tier hardware. Long and technical story but DAMN. fwiw, we've never had such a failure rate with the group we purchased from. Really is an outlier.

When people say, "I couldn't caraless".
    WTF is "cara less"?
Especially when it's people on TV who's only job is to speak for a living.
But I hate when everyone says it. Doesn't matter your ethnic background, accent, upbringing, education, any of it. No excuse to speak like an idiot, unless you have a bonafide disability.
    It's, "I couldn't care less".
You should get the tip of your dick flicked every time you say it like a moron.

Filling out an application for a mortgage transfer and checked the box that we're not interested in being contacted about life insurance so naturally the company sent me an email about how I didn't want to be contacted.

    Screenshot_20231204-103152~2.png

I wonder if they ever considered that I said I don't need life insurance because I already am insured.

Since you bring that up, marketers in general annoy the living crap out of me. I call the Professional Liars and I do not hesitate to tell them that to their face, challenging them to prove me wrong.

Having to continuously unsubscribe from the same marketing emails that I’ve already unsubscribed from. At least the majority go to my spam folder now, so there’s that. :frusty:

That stuff is just gravy on top of what brokers are already getting, I got roped a doped into PMI on a loan that did not require it all because I trusted the broker. Cost me a couple of grand in the end of it.

I'm working with someone who's supposedly the best broker in Western Canada 5 years running or something like that and she's already done a couple questionable things.
