There are a few different units depending on what your switch on the driver's side does. I have one of these on my desk to install if my truck ever comes back from the shop.

Having to restart the music app after getting a text. No keyboard input while moving. The long lag time to connect to a phone, even when wired direct.

Definitely a rattle but pretty suttle I had to point it out to my wife. Only when in in drive or reverse and partially on the brake like backing in somewhere or rolling up at a light. Which is kinda the issue bc I can’t actually look for it with out it being in gear.

I’m guessing this is because you’re supposed to tow in S4 per the owner’s manual.

That's the reverse signal wire, which isn't the one you want/need.

Navigation Override - DIY Kit – Anytime Backup Camera
NAV Override Kit - How to install – Anytime Backup Camera

chasing down the directions for this kit, the pin on trucks 2014-2019 is pin 17, and on 2020-2021 it is pin 27, which corresponds to the SPD (speed) signal coming from the cluster.

Note that doing so while in motion may affect your live GPS tracking because it uses the speed signal in conjunction with GPS to improve accuracy. The key is to flip the switch to use the desired function (i.e. enter in an address) and then turn it back to "normal" when done.

That wire will trigger your backup camera though. So if you want to be able to use the backup camera at any time, you wire a SPDT switch that will either leave that connection in normal mode (one switch position) or override (the other position sends +12V)

My 21 SR5 has a key. It's the best. I have a 3 dollar hardware store key that has no electronics in it and only opens the door. It will not start the truck. I keep the key with the electronics locked in the vault. I can get my door key wet or dirty or whatever, and still be able to start my truck.

I do not see any advantage in the push button.

The fact that the volume buttons go side to side while the next and previous go up and down.

Volume up, should click up. Next song, should be to the right for next in order.

Opposite problem. I wish I had a key, I find the push start frustrating. Plus I can't add an aftermarket remote start to keep the truck running when I open the door.

On '21 it is so hard for me to browse Sirius XM channels one at a time using the steering wheel controls. FM Radio and Bluetooth work great.

The main thing that annoys me has been mentioned that there is no real LSD. That is just totally lame for this truck. I hate the stupid traction control nannies that the truck has. I'd rather just have a real LSD and no nannies.

I also wish the tailgate came with the auto lock but that is easily fixable and I'll be addressing that in the coming months.

    OK, first world problems here:

No rain sensing windshield wipers. Both our 2011 vehicles have them, you'd think ten years later our 2021 Tundra would also.

Not being able to control the phone on the instrument cluster multifunction display. Once again, both our 2011 vehicles have the option of controlling the phone either on the center console or by using the buttons on the steering wheel via the instrument cluster multi-function display. I've always used the latter since its much less distracting. I can answer calls, scroll the phone book and review recent calls all without taking my hands off the wheel and just quickly looking straight down from the road. It didn't even occur to me to check this out when I test drove the truck and was shocked the first time I got a call in the Tundra. This would've just been a software mod, and Toyota was basically lazy.

I hadn't either until several months after my wife got her 2011. Was driving down the road on a nice sunny day and one of the neighbors had an errant lawn sprinkler that sprayed the windshield as I drove by and the wipers just suddenly started all on their own. I was like WTF just happened? Had to grab the owner's manual to figure it out (my wife didn't know about them either). Once you have them, it's kind of annoying to go without.

    The interior chrome.

Interior noise when on the freeway. Not enough noise cancelling material in the doors/floor/roof.

As mentioned before, can't use the NAV when moving.

    Auto up/down windows.

Its so hard to find a shell for this queen sized bed. I see 6' and 8' shells like a dime a dozen. Sure ford has a 5.5 bed also but the shells aren't even compatible because of my fat assed tailgate.

Enough said. Yeah, I know the center console has a lot of room, but my old 2003 Tundra had a storage bay in the back where I carried a pair of jumper cables, my trailer hitch bar and ball, and a small air compressor. I never had to open it unless I needed one of those.

Bought my first Tundra last month. 21 TRD Sport with 10k miles. Love it so far. Minor annoyances like with any vehicle but the 3 big ones

Turning off with open door after auto start, no auto up for driver side, and the weak non connecting weather strips on the roof. Had left side almost blow off during a car wash. Probably keep me from being lazy and just wash it myself. Oh and the 1999 keyfob which has been rectified thanks to AJT
