People complained of hearing the motor run (assuming) but definitely a noise after the window had either rolled up to stop, or rolled down. I've never heard the noise or anything. I would have never thought to listen for it, until I read folks complain. I think they've got it dialed pretty good.

Door auto unlock when shifting to Park. It's convenient a lot of times but could be a huge security issue when in the wrong part of town.

I can choose a different option in my settings. I have it set to unlock driver's door only.

For sure. This is completely customizable in your settings, though…unlike the remote starting cutting off when the door is unlocked

I just went through my USA market, 21, TRD Pro, and couldn't find the setting. Please let me know where this is.

Yes, this only works for 2010 thru 2017 but truck will not shut off according to 12 volt

    • To Start: Press lock 3 times on the OEM key FOB
    • To Stop: Press lock 3 times on the OEM Key FOB
    • Parking Lights will illuminate during remote start mode
    • Run time is 15 minutes
    • All doors, hood and hatch/trunk must be closed
    • The vehicle will NOT shut off when the door is opened. You can get in and go without having to restart your vehicle.

OK, so the Tundra only gets driven every 2-3 weeks during the winter because we have a couple other vehicles that are much more capable on snowy/icy roads (and the stock TRD OR tires suck), but that’s not the point.

The minimal driving apparently caught up with me on Wednesday since when I went out to start the truck it wouldn’t even unlock the doors. Tried the start button anyway and just got a couple clicks from the starting solenoid before it gave up. Awesome (not!). Since I was headed out of town for a couple days I decided to just grab the battery tender from another vehicle, thinking it would get a gentle charge while I was gone. I come back two days later, battery still dead. WTFO? At this point I grab my regular battery charger and hook it up. As soon as I do the lights start flashing and the starting solenoid is clicking. Seriously? Something I did not know about the smart key/push button start: as per the owner’s manual it “memorizes” the last command from the start button, so even if the battery is completely dead, or even if it’s removed, charged and put back into the vehicle, if the last command was “start” the starter will engage as soon as the battery is connected again (or in my case a battery charger is hooked up). What kind of dumbshit engineer thought this was a good idea?

2019 tundra sr5 with physical key you just have to remember not to start it when you get in.:canada: 2020 was the year with keyless and that’s why you have engine shut down with remote start afaik.

I like the fact that the locks don't work with the keys in the ignition. When I am at the hunting ranch I just leave the keys in the ignition. I know where they are and noone can accidently lock the doors.

The seat belt rattle against the door pillar when fully retracted, dashboard rattle, door squeaks, transmission never happy with its gear, blower fan squeaks. Only one door with a key slot. No rear door pockets.

But the motor is fun over 3.5k rpms.

Ok, so I didn't think it would bother me as much as it bothers anyone else here but man was I wrong. I cant stand the automatic shut off when opening the door after remote starting the damn thing. Its really annoying.

This is something that someone needs to go Erin Brokovich on. Just scorched earth until some nerd somewhere at corporate flips a switch that allows it to be disabled. It’s easily the most mentioned annoyance and so easily fixable if they just allowed a bypass.

Probably been said before, but the location of the rear mirror adjustment switch is hard to see and it is not lighted, Impossible to reach, without moving to the backseat, rear sliding window on the DCs.

Doesn't bother me since I am only driver. I set and don't have worry about it unless I wash my mirrors. What bothers me is even Prius's have a back-lit switch.
