Your probably right, but in the 2.5 gen years Toyota was the only one to advertise something like everyday tow weight, which was above what the big 3 were saying was their max towing capacity.

BSM is not supposed to be a replacement for checking your mirrors and blind spot.

I’m sure if you get the Carlinkit on Amazon to hook up to your vehicle. Not sure if you have android or CarPlay devices updated. But with the carlinkit, it’ll directly utilize your apps from your phone, including navigation.
I don’t like the fact that I have to reset my route or shout at it whilst driving (it’s a show in itself). But having to go back to the phone…yeah…totally annoying. But absolutely love the Bluetooth hands free feature hands down while driving. Didn’t have that in my last vehicle.

    You missed my point.
I watch my mirrors religiously and when changing lanes always "try" to check my blind spot.
But, it's called a blind spot for a reason. Would be nice to have that little BSM symbol light up in case I missed something in my "blind" spot.

I couldn't imagine how many accidents have been avoided with vehicles equipped with BSM.

I expect this one may be a repeat, but how could I forget…
My all-time, #1 annoyance is THE CUP HOLDERS
I have a 2021. Thought they would have found a more user-friendly cup holder by the end of the 2.5 era.

The "master warning light/chime"... It will light up and chime, but doesn't give you a clue what's wrong. I do really appreciate what it does, but some sort of indication of root cause would really help troubleshooting...

I hit a pothole in Nashville a couple days ago that popped my hood latch - The master warning light came on, and I checked doors, e-brake, etc... Couldn't find anything wrong. Never thought about the hood latch - but sure enough there it was popped open.

Yeah this bugs me. I had a 1984 audi that would have a little hood symbol come on the dashboard if the hood was open (and my 2009 bmw wagon same deal, says "tailgate open" if i start driving without properly closing the tailgate). Why does my 35 year newer truck still not know?

Beep! Seatbelt not fastened? Door open? Out of gas? about to rear-end a cop? Who knows!

    Or add blind spot monitors...

As someone mentioned somewhere else on the forum, the way to make a million dollars selling cars is to make it $1 cheaper and then sell a million of them. The parts for a blind spot monitor might be $50-100 wholesale, so even skipping it on 10,000 trucks is a million bucks saved...

Yea or I could simply keep what I got.

Then, when I see a thread on a forum asking what annoys me about my truck, I could just post what annoys me.
I think that's the way this works.

Sending a sincere thanks your way for the great advice on "blind" spots and getting a new "upgrade" truck.

That I have to own it for another, at least, 13 years until Toyota hopefully wakes up and can admit the absolute embarrassment the 3rd Gen is with its Goodyear blimp grill and Yugo build quality. OR, maybe that's a good thing.

Can you elaborate a bit on the Yugo build quality comment? I'm a bit confused. the 3rd gen has been out for not very long at all and I haven't heard of it falling apart. And I've heard mostly great things about the 2.5gen build quality...

I also have this issue. I'm trying to figure out a solution.

I've read a few complaints about auto windows: seems Toyota offered auto up/down on both driver and passenger front windows on higher trims.

You're right; I'd forgotten I had the 'pleasure' of riding it one. My sister has one of those. She's got the 2022 RAV4 Prime, or whatever it is that is the hybrid. Gas mileage is pretty damn impressive, but it's even more crap than the 4Runner/Tundra for drinks.

Got my truck in December, I have this annoying rattle near the door handle area, rattles when cold and then goes away when warmed up. Lots of bass will also make it rattle lol it’s not that bad though. The previous owner had a mat they cut out a cup holder circle in the for lower storage / single cup holder area. I wish Toyota made that spot a “grippy” material from the factory.

I have a 2021 XLE which is gas. I like it, but seriously the two round pits they expect you to use for cups is insane. Regular ceramic coffee mug-nope. A 12oz can of soda, it's so low you only grab the top to lift it out. Only narrow water bottles fit. Just stupid.

I dont get the cupholder hate. I can fit a 30oz yeti in both of my cupholders just fine. Bought some weather tech coffee mug holder adapter for and it sits nice in the holder. :notsure:
