A sissy bar and cargo rack on the back of a Heritage Classic is about as negligent a Harley owner could be.

I feel like the seat belt is more dangerous than not having one. I'd rather be thrown from a motorcycle, not strapped to it where you can can be trapped and getting tossed with a 400+lb chunk of flaming metal.

You broke a major rule: If you’re insulting someone’s intelligence, make sure and spell it all correctly.

Theres truth in that statement. Its better to be flung off that bike than to be attached to it if the worst happens. On the other hand, its a real concern that a kid could fall off the back too.

I still wouldnt want to strap a kid to a motorcycle, though.

I used to sit on the tank of my dad‘s motorcycle. I also used to light my mom or dads cigarettes while they smoked in the car and I didn’t have a seatbelt on LMFAO I also played in the creek before during and after the rain. Also my dad used to have a six pack of Coors original in the front seat with one in between his legs on long trips. Crack me another one boy!

But I do agree that seatbelt around the kid with an open face helmet is pretty poor choices nowadays.

He's in Texas. That kid knows better than to touch his Dad's gun. At least I did when I was his age.

But that belt has got to go for all of the reason already mentioned. His leg would look like hamburger if the bike slid and fell over with his leg under it.

I'd say that if he doesn't trust the kid not to fall off then he shouldn't let him ride or he should buy a Goldwing. The back seat on those things looks like a miniature Lazyboy recliner.

Goldwings are the Cadillacs of motorcycles.
They even make Harleys look cheap.

I just cant ride a goldwing though.

None yet but just got 20" rims from a limited and am planning on getting more agresive tires and a lift kit after Christmas. Installing running boards now so i guess its starting .
What happened to the days when we used to ride in the truck bed or when we was in the the back bench of the station wagon rolling around and when mom or dad stepped on the brakes so heard you and the rifle dad carried for God knows what in the vehicle came flying across and all your mom or dad did was wipe your butt off the windshield and threw you bad and the rifle was put back in the rack or under the seat. When did we die and began to worry about living?

    That's a reflector.

Getting a leg caught under the bike would probably be the best case scenario. That bike could get launched into the air and flip over a few times, and I'd bet that kid wouldn't be in one peice when it was over.

You could assume the kid should be old enough to know not to grab a gun, but if that was the case I'd assume hed be old enough not to jump off of a moving motorcycle without needing to be strapped to it, so that idea might be a little optomistic.

I wonder if the helmet is even the kids size, or if it's the dads helmet that he put on his head and said "eh... good enough"

open carry... there is no way to pull it off and not look like an idiot.

if he goes down that gun would roll down the street since his holster offers zero retention though his rolls add significant tension.

ppl like him give the harley crowd the bad wrap they have. for most safety equals to no helmet or DOT approved yamika or bandana, sunglasses, cig in mouth, a vest and some dumb HD boots. all in run me over black. all because I can be obnoxiously hear but never seen.

"here son you must be safe and wear a helmet. my head is full of stupid and can absorb impacts quite well, my skin is weathered like beef jerky and is abrasion resistant. always remember to do as I say not as I do"

The boys life is more in danger being strapped to the bike . someone may have already said that but not sure. In an accident he would be drug on the ground and no way to get away from it. Or worse trapped up against something . That's just an awful picture period he need to re rethink what he is doing.
