Hey, @COMiamiFan we're not meaning to diss your hose reel, man. It's highly functional! In fact, it gets "10" on function, and, uh...well, I'm thinking to get one that motorized. :D

I've had that problem with other hoses and aluminum connections. The hoses I have now are all brass to brass connected. It's more expensive to do than using the Home Depot junk... but never any problems.

@Voyagermike recommended these a while back. They looks pretty nice, but expensive.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Aluminum reel parts, brass and stainless water connections. Ten year warranty. I'll pay more to get something that lasts. Thanks @War Machine!

    P. S. I left hardness test results for Fleck softener for you and @marc32 on your CR Spotless Conversion thread. After six days of a seven day cycle, there was still no measurable hardness using Hach 5B hardness test kit. Fleck softener has a gallons meter on the head, but I have yet see how much softened water a wash will take. Maybe 250 gallons?

I prefer the red Hot water hose they use to sell at Home Depot was like $34 for a 50" length.

I bought these thinking it would last a season and it has lasted longer than anything I ever had.
It is lighter to deal with and makes it easy to take care of and I think that is the reason it has lasted.

    Heh, Heh. Uhm...Probably not. :D

I've never gotten a letter, but "Da Rules" say garden hoses may remain in view if they are neatly coiled. But: No garbage bins in view. No RVs, boats, or unregistered vehicles in view. No more than two pets, dogs must be fenced and walked on a leash. (I can have two horses on my lot, but I have no money or interest for horses.) My neighbor started building a nice house, just to find out that "Da Rules" said he couldn't park his $250K land yacht in view of neighbors during construction, OR, after he moved in. That one went to court (his daughter was a lawyer and apparently a good one); the HOA LOST! "Da Rules" had to be "clarified".

Nice! Sometimes I wish I had a lawyer in the family, just for things like that.

Man, I have no idea. I don’t have a meter to check. It would be nice to know. I imagine I use way too much though. I’m pretty heavy handed with it.

My pressure washer uses 2.3 gallons per minute. If that’s an accurate number, I’d think it’s way less than 250. I’d estimate maybe 15 minutes of actual water usage when washing a truck, tires and all? That’d be around 35 gallons, less if your gpm is lower?
