Not originally. After 17 years and 194K miles it was time for the Silverado 2500HD Duramax to go. Not because it was a bad truck, just the opposite, its been a great truck, but with the hunting camp built we'd sold the fifth wheel toy hauler and no longer needed the big diesel. Thought the next truck was going be a mid-sized, but ergonomics and engines in the Colorado/Canyon didn't seem right. Next up was the Tacoma, had some concern on towing the boat or utility trailer in the mountains (along with the smaller bed), but the biggest problem was the horrible ride on rough roads. Ford and Jeep were non-starters. Silverado and Ram 1/2 tons have too many engine choices, most of which folks seem to have issues with, and by the time you equip either with leather seats and premium sound you're somewhere around $65K - $70K (even before tax...). Enter the Tundra, reliable and powerful V-8, 6.5' bed (DC), leather seats and premium sound in a Limited TRD Off Road out the door, including tax, for less than $50K. Easy choice!

    Yes. Twice.
In January 2004 - Looking for a Tundra and found a great deal on a used 03 Tundra 2WD Access Cab TRD Sport stepside. First one I'd ever seen. The deal was too good to pass up. I drove it 14 years & 250k miles. It was still running strong when I traded it for a car for my daughter.
    Just like this one...
There was a Jeep Wrangler 2018-2020
Then in Feb 2020, Didn't like the newer style Tundras. Found a 2006 DoubleCab Limited 2WD with only 101k miles. Love it!

I’m working on obtaining one again. Local online hasn’t had a good one in months and when they do they are gone so fast. My current truck is costing me $800 a month and a ton of gas. To boot, I just traded in my punk rock card for a yacht rock card due to early onset manopause.

20 in rims, bilstein shocks with 1in lift, Touchscreen head unit with 15in sub and amp, foglights added and a shit ton of repairs haha
Oh, man wish I had seen this earlier, I have an 04 manual with 180k miles that's in great condition and has a few upgrades. Has a sound system, upgraded stereo with apple car play and android auto, put in a brand new clutch last year and replaced all 4 shocks this year with bilsteins. No mechanical issues at all and drives like a dream. Definitely would have sold for 12k, I'm looking to buy a new Tacoma so that would be a nice little down payment

After the T100 was beat like a dog and I couldn’t wait another decade for it to die, i was looking for a first gen tundra. Also specifically one that was black with dark grey interior. Found it and couldn’t be happier. I thought about 4Runners but needed the bed. The newer tundras are too big and too ugly from the front (except the 2022s). I am convinced these are the best trucks ever made. Perfect size/power/reliability/looks. Almost every other truck (even Tacomas) are missing the mark on too many things.
