Thanks homie! I wasn't gonna try it. but I had a couple mtn dews and next thing I knew... LOL

So there are a couple finer points we can talk about here. "Straight" is a relative term. When you are behind the wheel and spotter says straight, he shouldn't mean put your steering wheel at 12 o'clock. He should mean to move your truck forward in a straight line. The reason is because the trail will move your truck in different ways. Sometime to move forward in a straight line you might have to have your wheels turned. Now, if the spotter wanted your steering wheel at 12 o'clock, he should tell you which direction to turn it until it is at the point where he likes it. Now, lots of people have different ways of calling out spots. I have found its best to keep things super simple and repeat repeat repeat until you get the wheels where you want them. So I'll say thing like, driver driver driver. Or passenger passenger passenger. When controlling speed I keep it simple as well. I will also tell you what to expect when your wheels drop into a hole or you have to crest a rock.

In the video, Jimmy says straight, but I was fighting the rock on my passenger wheel. Sometimes, you can't follow the spotter because the trail won't let you. It's up to the spotter to recognize that you can't turn because of a rock and its up to the driver to feel the rock and not fight the steering wheel. That an easy way to blow your rack.

Also, modified suspension isn't really a learning curve. when you have LT, you have massive amounts of articulation and with the bigger tires the result is that the obstacles on the trail start to feel smaller. Everything becomes MUCH easier. I can literally take obstacles with my eyes closed that I would have to have a spotter for if I was MT.

I'll be honest with you man. I'm self taught. The best way to learn to off road is to off road. When I was stock I did hundreds of miles through Anza solo. I didn't break anything. I stayed within my limits and over time I increased those limits. Over the years I have learned many lessons, but the number one lesson is know your truck and its limits.

The number two lesson I learned is to get out of your comfort zone. If you aren't pushing those limits they will never increase. Its a fine line, but those rules apply to a lot of things in life. Besides, it's fun to get your heart pumping

Hahaha I have a sawzall and several grinders, its putting metal back to complete the tub that I'm worried about. When I get there if I mess up I'll need Marty on standby to fire up the flux capacitor.

One of my favourite San Diego Locals pleasures: watching the Blue Angels practicing for the Air Show. Like synchronized long-travel airplanes. :)

Haha you won't break. But I never leave anyone behind. Actually, come to think about it, the last bracket lift I went wheeling did break, but we didn't leave him behind.

Way to come thru Mike! You truly are an asset to the company. Your goodwill will go a long way! On another note, wtf happened to the AZ crew? Specifically Conner, 4runningdaily, heard he got permabanned? I've known and wheeled with him since '12 with T4R. He's a great kid! Wtf happened?

    Appreciate it man!

I’ve never met Connor, but talked to him over the forum a bunch. Good dude.

Idk what happened exactly, through the grapevine what I heard is they were posting too much about “Gay this” “gay that” and it went over the line for too long.

    :fistbump:

I was thinking about changing it though :anonymous:
