THIS really is the best plan. (And what I hope we'll come back to after our behind-the-curtain shenanigans.)

I'd be down to do Gold Mtn.! Just not in the Tundra! September is quite a ways off. If you want to run GM in the next couple weeks lmk. Afterwards we can go play around on the JB gatekeeper. If we go during the middle of the week it's empty so there's no crowd to laugh at your f'ups! The last time I was there it had just snowed earlier that week so it was slick. I almost rolled! Also there's a great yellow post site nearby. And lots of campgrounds too. IMG_2124.jpg

You guys are on a while 'nother level; we're like a Kindergarden camp to socialize wanna-be off-roaders in preparation for "real" school. But you got Jimmy jumped in; in sure others of us will "graduate" to higher grade levels.

No it just looks like that from the pictures. It depends on the trip. Big Bear is pretty technical. You need at least a lift and 35s. But we've taken 2wd trucks through before.

Sequoia should be easy, nothing is rated difficult. They're all forest roads or rated easy and medium. Some of the trails are new to me though so no promises.

Jimmy wheeled all the black diamond trails with us on 32" tires and no armor. Everything depends on your driving abilities.

We always help each other out and spot through difficult sections and we never make anyone go through something if they aren't comfortable. If that means the whole group has to backtrack, we're ok with that. We've done it before lol

The only way to know what you can do is to go out and try. I bought my truck and wheeled it all over anza, solo, when it stock...

Biggest thing is getting set up with camping gear. We usually do 2 -4 nights with zero services and we camp in very remote areas.

As for being 2wd, I'll let you know if its a deal breaker. Just depends on the trip. You will definitely need 35" mud or AT tires and good coilovers, Fox King ADS etc. I've seen too many blown toytecs and stock coilovers. Also, NO SPACERS lifts. I won't wheel with you LOL

Anza, Mojave, Death Valley, Sequoia, Mammoth, Souther UT, Nothern AZ, those are all good places for 2wd as long as you're with 4wd trucks. If you need to take the strap its no big deal

Update: I think the next full group trip is "go" for Saturday September 8 in Big Bear. Look for a new thread coming soon.

I got home, checked out Fambly master calendar, and was reminded we have long-ago scheduled plans for that day.:annoyed:

Which, of course, I immediately requested we try to reschedule.
    :fingerscrossed: I can make it!

You know it's not you I mean, Homie. I want to make sure that, if Adam in TX comes peeping in our SoCal windows, he has reason to get all twisted up and defensive. Shshshshhhhhh! Don't tag him; I want to find out if he's :spy:.

I'm obviously not on 35s and I'm on stock suspension so I'll stick to the bunny slopes for now. :curls: One day though...

I will be up in Mammoth the week before but hiking and not
My August may open back up - Two of my permit hikes are about to be cancelled, one for wildfire and the other from Flash Flood.
