I vote you definitely don’t cut the exhaust! If you do, you’ll risk melting a bunch of stuff… brake lines, for example. I’d suggest you run it like that, get it to full performance temperature, then shut off the truck, get underneath immediately, and check it out. You may not want to try putting your fingers between the pipe and the tire, but you should be able to touch the tire very near the pipe. Is it ridiculously hot? If it is… hot enough you think it could alter the tire, then you’ll need to reroute the pipe or move the tire. Picture though, tires don’t just melt… they can handle some pretty high temps.

I was thinking of going to an exhaust shop near the house and seeing how much it would cost to have the exhaust dump shortly after the muffler. Idk if that is a good or bad solution. I thought about cutting it but idk if I like what else it might cook. Pretty much what @Sunnier said.

Do you like a loud exhaust? Cut off the muffler and have them put turn downs after the cats. Problem solved

Yeah, don’t just cut it. Maybe cut it and add a weld-on downturn. We did mine, to fit a cantilever for long-travel. Luckily, I noticed it damaging the brake lines before it was too late. Added a down turn, all is well.

Per dirty deeds when I had them install their exhaust, 1 finger width of space is enough

So that hanger counts as a finger or a finger width from the hanger?

@HAMi do you have a pic, from farther back? Could you cut it as Joon suggested, or would that not work for you.

If the tire doesn’t feel ridiculously hot after running the truck, it’s probably fine as is. That said, if you can go off-roading with Joon, he’ll help you move or get rid of that pipe altogether. :D
