I did! How was yours? Heard you might have broken in the new ride a little...

P.S. Those rocks in your avatar look oddly familiar...

It was excellent! One buddy with a +2LT Tacoma on 35"s with chromoly cv shafts managed to shear a shaft in half at the gate keeper with water on it at the exit from the direction we drove. That was our only casualty.
I used both skids and sliders, kissed my bumpers and got some rock rash on a wheel, it was :censored: awesome! Haha. Truck handled much better than I had anticipated. I honestly didn't think I'd make it up that section, but my buddy with a similar set up made it so I felt a bit better going for it. First time really wheeling in the rocks and now I'm hooked

(Hopefully I have my trail numbers correct) Should be Holcomb creek, but we bypassed the main "gate keeper" granted the other two that we went over were no joke either.

Have some pictures and such from the trip -

Nice! You guys took 2N06X to 3N93, then went east to 3N14... we did the same except went west to 3N16. I damaged my rear driveshaft and had a mean wobble going home. Got it pulled and now I'm fwd! :DDrove 55-60 all the way home.

Thank you for the clarification! I need to step my map/nav game up.

Oh damn! That's gnarly. At least it was a simple as pulling the shaft and continuing on in FWD. Glad you were able to make it home on your own power!

Our buddy that snapped his CV didn't have a spare. He winched off the last obstacle, drove to a clearing and had his CV pulled in 15 minutes. We drove to the bar then off to find camp (got lucky and scored the last spot at Holcomb Valley Campground and crammed 3 trucks in one spot). The next day we we're near John Bull and attempted to go find the gate keeper to check it out. We were on the right trail, but no idea where the gate keeper was, I assumed we entered from the wrong end. That buddy started to have an issue with his brakes, and only being 2wd (since he only had one CV in) made the trail a real challenge. Ended up turning around, and good thing we did, because as we we're headed back to the main road his wheel bearing fell apart. Took the busted cv and spent forever taking the end of it off so we could use the spline end to hold the wheel bearing together. So glad it failed on a slow flat section of trail rather than on the highway back home!

Had a great weekend. Took the nephew to shoot strangers with plastic BB's. Found out I'm more out of shape than I thought.:infantry:
@eccracer104 looks like you had a really good time all things considered.

Yes for sure. Could've been catastrophic at speed. We should run Dishpan!

Hahaha oh man, my brother and I used to go to town on one another with those things. Aside from the out of shape part (myself included there lol) sounds like fun! Where'd you guys go? Did it have a good layout?

I'm now open for that! :fistbump:

    @BestGen
I almost forgot, Danny and friends turned around at the gate keeper we went up. I’m sure they would have gone, but they had a friend with an exhaust leak on his 4runner so they had to turn around. When we got there he’s all “don’t try it you’ll rip off your bumpers! You won’t make it!” Lol

@eccracer104 went to "Code Red" in Perris. I think they have a decent layout. They have 5 fields to choose from so a lot of different ways to play. Example..... Play from field 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and so on depending on how many players. Probably going to play this weekends night game at Code Red.

And yea, he’s the leader for JB at the San G trip haha. I suggest you do watch! Hell depending on what happens I might want to detour from my trip just to watch

Wooooah ok that’s cool! I’ve never been to a place to play, it’s all foreign to me at the moment. Definitely would like to eventually.
    Night game! Badass!

I tried to set something like that up on TW. It was between Go Karts or Paintball, but people kept flaking and ended up not doing it. Hard to find a good weekend, when the temps are good for airsoft they tend to also be good for camping haha

Yup I would not recommend airsoft when it's hot. It's pretty miserable but I would still go:p, but for a first timer not a good idea.

That's the first obstacle on Lower Larga 2N06X. I didn't know it was considered a 'gatekeeper'. :D I was thinking of the gatekeepers at the west and east ends of 3N93. I'm no expert, for all I know maybe it is that trail's gatekeeper. :drevil:

Found that out the hard last year when I tried it out with my son on a 100 degree day. I can say that I had a slight into to what our brave solders have to deal with everyday during a firefight in those hot temps. God bless theirs souls.

Hahahaha I'm still learning the lingo! I assumed it was a "gatekeeper" into this section of the trail. Ah yeas, Lower Larga sounds correct, I remember seeing that sign now.

White mountain had some narrow spots with brush on both sides, pinstripes are a 100% thing. I don't think you'd need sliders for that trail, at least I didn't hit mine lol.

Yeah the other trail would be tough in a Tundra! We saw many heeps and a few old toyota pickups and 4runners, but our Tacomas we're basically the biggest vehicles on the trail width and length wise.

Lol! Glad I could be of service :hattip:

I'm looking forward to hitting a trail with @BestGen , I have A LOT too learn still.

Your new 4runner would do very well on White Mountain! Great challenge, lots of fun, and that steep loose hill has a bypass if you want to skip it. We had a guy nearly slide off the hill because he didn't stay left.

White Mountain sounds fun! I've got a local buddy lined up to play 4x4 this Friday, I'll see if she's up to do this one.
Aw, Buddy, it feels like I'm in limbo right now, so much going on all around me, but me a bit stuck in the middle of a bunch of transitions on several fronts. Trying to hustle a new gig at work, but that will make childcare for Little Homie a challenge this summer; and gotta replace carpet ... which has required we pack like we're moving (we're "book people", and full bookshelves are not among the included furniture moving...).

Lucky we can live vicariously through the SoCal homies, BASTRDs, and SGU threads!!:mudding:
