I'm a little behind on my video editing; I will get to it soon though.

Looks like they got a LOT more rain between when I ran that trail in January (MLK weekend) and Feb (Pres weekend?). I have a love/hate relation with it though. Love everything from occotillo Wells up to about the end of the 2nd vid. Once it gets all tight and twisty the speeds drop way down and fun factor drops as well. Luckily when I was there we made the entire trail w/o seeing a single other vehicle. That's also why I don't like the last part w/ all the turns. I just know a sand-rail is gonna come screaming around a corner and hit me head-on some time!

Yeah, I'm always scared that some kid on a dirt bike is going to speed around a blind turn and slam into me. I have to say that I like Anza-Borrego better because only street legal vehicles are allowed.

One final video from that trip:

Haha... someone is having a VERY bad day. Wonder how it started. Maybe all the hair gel and Axe body spray mixed w/ 2-stroke fumes and spontaneously combusted!!

Really, the thing I like about Carmen Sandiego is 'San Diego'. Decided to share it here locally. Fun for the pavement part of road trips. :)

I don’t think so. I can put up a poll to see who’s in or out. I think SoCal will have a heavy presence this year.

Alright party people! Poll is up. Cast your vote and post a response if you are in or out! It would be good to see what interest is out there. So people can plan huge caravans

I'll make it out Wednesday to Friday from San Diego. Probably won't do the scheduled trail runs. Going to see where all the hard trails are at.

We have three hard trails on the schedule for this year. Each potentially being run twice a day.

To ensure we’re able to keep hosting the event there, we commit to the US Forest Service that we’ll have no more than 8 rigs on a trail at any given time.

Registration will be open soon (I’m trying to make it easy for people to pick the days and times they want to run each trail).
I could use another Trail Leader if you’re interested. Basically means being the point of contact for the 8 while on trail. Make sure no one gets left behind, that sort of thing.

We have a few incentives in place from sponsors for anyone who steps up to Trail Leader. Open to anyone with an interest.

The three hard trails are Greasy Spoon, Broken Arrow and Smiley Rock. Keep in mind Sedona is known for its scenery, not the trail difficulty, so don’t expect Chocolate Thunder or Backdoor.

Pluto will be a very tight fit on Smiley Rock - could be a real fun challenge especially with the weather we’ve had this year.

We’re workikg on the final website updates to the trails list and registration, but feel free to look through.

For those that have been, do we camp at the same spot every night? Is it dispersed or a proper campsite?

    Same spot every night.

Here’s just about everything there is to know about the event. We did bring a couple of porta-potties last year and likely will again, but it’s better to be prepared.

I can lead a trail this year on Thursday or Friday I guess to make up for last year when I registered for the event and selected trail leader but ended up having to bail on the trip a few days before.

I've done all 3 of those trails and they're moderate at best. I guess Broken Arrow has the coolest immediate scenery though. Are you guys getting permits to do Soldier Pass? Not hard either but I haven't done it again since they started permitting it.
