Weird question; how to make Tundra feel less ginormous?

    op, also one thing, perhaps try the fancy schmancy UCAs, I bought the Icon billet UCAs and it really changed the way the truck drove, I'll most likely get the coachbuilder's steering kit.

    After looking back at the pics, it seems that the heavy camper shell is causing some rear sag, and that is probably part of the problem. It's screwing up the perspective from the driver's seat.

    Would that typically be enough to change the driving experience to a noticeable extent? I threw a smartcap on (200ish lbs) and haven’t noticed a change in handling at all. Granted, I do have the sway bar added to my 1794.

    That fiberglass cap with all that glass is quite a bit heavier, my guess is nearly 300. Then, add whatever is inside it. After a long period of flexing from that weight, the springs probably lost some arch. Once you get the truck in a front up/,rear down position, it will certainly change how it feels and drives. OP could probably benefit from a Roadmaster Active Suspension HD kit to remove the squat and improve handling too. Much better than spending on a rear sway bar.

    I hear you having made the transition from a Gen5 T4R to a Gen3 Tundra. It IS bigger (and mine has a modest lift), but it just takes some getting used to. In the first month I added some custom Rocky Mountain Pinstripes from brush on a narrow trail (4” IS a lot wider) and nearly tore the rear bumper off dropping down into a wash (departure angle oversight on my part). All good now, though. I love it, have figured out all of my angles and dangles, and it feels great both on and off road.

    It used to feel huge to drive but then my eye prescription changed a lot in a weird way. The glasses shrink everything horizontally so much I can see out every mirror simultaneously without moving my head at all. Tundra feels like a Tacoma now but the roads are all narrow strips of pavement.

    It also made most women look like supermodels but that's not helpful at all.

    Something that's always helped when there's no passengers riding along is moving the passenger seat forward so its profile lines up with the B-pillar as viewed from the driver's seat, and flip down the rear headrests. If visibility is good through all windows it can do good things. Just switching from a tonneau to a full cap does the opposite and makes the truck feel 2x bigger because when you can't see where you are the brain assumes a much larger safety factor.

    Get a Jeep Gladiator! Just kidding. I have 2019 Tundra ... love it.... but it's a pavement queen! Feels like driving a sofa down the road but tows like crazy. Perfect.

    My wife has a Jeep Gladiator Mojave... a beast of a truck but a little more snug for this short chubby guy. Can't beat driving on a nice day with the top down though... and probably the most capable off-road vehicle ever. Ok... maybe Range Rover or those $259,000 Mercedes SUVs!

    Traded my 2017 4Runner on my 2018 Tundra CrewMax. I love the size for a 1/2 ton PU. It reminds me of my F250 Crew. I've had buddies with Chevy 1/2 tons sit in it and be amazed at the size of the interior.
