see? i knew this would be fun for everyone...

the bowl refills partially. the tank has started to refill but very very slowly. just got back from HD. picked up a new fill valve and 3" flapper.

a few months ago, there had been a knock in the pipes when it refilled. the knock no longer happens.

Funny story. My Wi-Fi went out for a couple of weeks and my neighbor let me use theirs. I was paranoid that they were going to somehow see what I was searching. Use your imagination LOL.

So before you put in your new fill valve a.k.a. ball cock. Make sure you are getting good flow out of the supply line before you hook it up to the tank again.

I would shut the water off at the wall, then disconnect the line that feeds the toilet. Now slowly open the valve on the wall and see if it flows freely, or if debris in the valve are restricting flow.

Don’t forget a valve top (not sure the proper name) (it’s a closed nut that screws on where the hose connecting to the toilet goes) some of not most valves will seep water even when shut off.

When I was a kid one of my numerous chores was picking up dog poop LOL I hated it! I told my mom when I have kids I am making them do it. Guess what my daughters job is! Is it bad that I get satisfaction out of my daughter picking up dog poop? LMFAO

I went on a call for this same issue once. A couple just moved into a condo and lived with it for months because they had a second bathroom.

I got there, took one look and opened the shutoff valve.

I worked at a guys house and he wondered why the bathroom he didn’t use stunk so bad. They let the water dry up in the toilet and sink. Get a clue people! That will be $85 see you later. I have literally cleared a toilet stoppage by lightly kicking the side of the toilet. I still used the auger just to make sure. I felt bad for charging on that one. But time is money.I could probably write a short novel on all the stupid stuff I’ve seen.
