Weathertech mats question - fit correctly?

I don't believe they will be a good fit. I know these companies make mats for double cabs though. Maybe not Husky but I'm pretty sure Weather Tech does.

 

I know that there are three versions of Husky mats available, and I would ensure that you are searching out the right one for a DC. I had to order "Classic" or some such for my '01.

 

This is the only number I have handy -

 

After doing some more digging, I was able to determine that the DC model of the old school Husky liners are 35512 for the front and 65512 for the rear (that's for they grey mats). I found them at an online retailer and ordered them - not cheap but the amount of mud and crud I seem to drag in make it worth it to me. Thanks for the insights everybody.

 

Is there actually any difference between the 2000-2004 access cabs and the 2005-2006 models? Husky's website says the classic liners fit '00-'04 but wouldn't fit my '06. I guess it was my understanding there wasn't any difference between the standard and access cab models across the whole first gen. Am I wrong about this?

 

Here are a few things I learned about Weathertech floor mats for my 2003 Tundra Access Cab with Auto transmission and Flow-Through Console.

these from Amazon (I'm from Seattle and prefer to shop local ) and found they didn't fit well despite Amazon saying they'd fit. These mats have the same weird notch in the passenger side that a previous poster mentioned. It turns out these are model #450011 (tan) which are for a 2003 Tundra Access Cab with Auto and NO Flow-through console.



If you want to order from Amazon and have the "Flow-Through Console you'll need to search for Weathertech part

#458001 (tan) which is titled to fit a 2004 Tundra.


Bottom line if you want to order from Amazon is that it's best to use the Weathertech product finder to get the correct part number because Amazon is pretty lousy at matching some car parts to specific car variants.

Fortunately, an e-mail to Weathertech (via Amazon returns) yielded an RA# and FedEx call ticket for free shipping back to Weathertech (Weathertech has their own store on Amazon). The passenger side mat did fit very nicely on the door side of the mat.

As for the driver's side mat, the fit also was not awesome as others have noted. No amount of futzing could get the mat to lay flatter than this. If I didn't return them I would have used a heat gun and considered screwing the stock threshold on top of the mat as a previous poster did.

I'll probably order the correct mats and will hopefully report back on the fit.

 

Love my Weather Techs on my 06 DC . . . previous owner put them in (front and back).
Light grey in color, fit great, stay put, clean easily.
Not sure what they cost, but I'd recommend them.

 

I have the weathertechs. My only complaint is that they are not husky liners.

 

I have the weathertechs in my 05 DC and they fit great. The drivers side fits much much better without that little black plastic tab to hold them in. Mine never slide without that tab either

 

I really like my Husky Liners. I found a pair of fronts on sale on eBay (Canada); not sure if it would be worth the shipping cost...

 

My only complaint about my husky liners is that they can get a little slick when wet. Not much traction on top. I'm glad I got them though.

 

Agreed, the liner doesn't move around but the feet can slide around.

I have the 3D (KAGU all weather) liners in our three other cars and love them. Wished they made them for our Tundra's.....

I do like the fronts though.

 

I wish Toyota still made the All Weather Mats for our trucks. They are a nice Quality Rubber, but after 20 years I’ve had to ‘FuzeIt’ the undersides back together where they split. They are a little undersized, but have done a nice job all these years.

 

Anyone have pictures of a DC with Weathertech mats? Thinking about ordering some but I want to see what they look like before I do.

 

They fit pretty good. No complaints.

 

Oh so the OEM mats can be sealed up? Anyone have a link to how best to do that? Shoe goo or something? My only complaint with them is they aren’t waterproof anymore. 20 years of service though and not bad.

 

Well, I'm unhappy to say, I finally found that TWeakerTech makes a rear '05-'06access cab mat (mine, in black, is p/n 440442). I ordered, and lo and behold, the fitment is okay-ish but yet again, big failure if you own power seats and fitment like hot garbage along the sills yet again.. When you kick the front seat back, the motor practically eats the mat's front lip that is supposed to protect fluids from spilling under the seat.

Needless to say, I may end up trimming it back, which defeats the purpose of spill protection I guess, but I *won't* be sending it back, and I think WeatherTech's $100-120 MSRP pricing is utter bullshit for something with this gapingly huge, Goatse-sized design flaw. See the last two pics, which is where anyone over 5'9" tall would need the seat to be. Possibly fitment is better with non-power seats.

Seriously though, that's a loaded 2006 T4R steering wheel, leather-wrapped. I intended to swap it into the truck but I'm taking for-damn-ever to install it.

 

Better put a seat belt on it then, so it won't get injured while wait...

Now that's writing. Four words that give a functionally accurate sense of scale and lends metaphorical emphasis to how you feel about the issue.

 

So, the fitment of the rear mat is worse than I thought. they clearly didn't test this with a power seat. I dunno about anyone else, but I'm over 6ft tall. I need the driver seat as low to the floor as it'll get and at least 60% of the way back. With the seat at the lowest setting, when I move the seat backwards, the seat frame grabs the top half of this splash guard lip:

And it continues to drag it backwards until the mat completely starts to crush and buckle backwards. The only way to solve this is to cut that splash guard lip down to about 1/2". I just paid over $100 for a mat that isn't compatible unless I butcher it.

Had a good fit Weathertech matt in a BMW, but that was back in 2015. Sounds like the company got their 'marketshare' lately and decided 'thats close enuf' for the relatively small number of vehicles FGTs rep. After reading this and a few other threads, I guess I'm forced to stick w/my 'temporary' -cheap Oreilly' mats thru this winter, since even the competitors seem to not care...

If it would do any good, I'd like to email Weathertech a link to a list of tundras.com threads expressing the low opinions they've earned here in the hood, but it'd probably be interpreted as:
"...maybe we can drop prices 10%?..."

So I took a chance and ordered them:

..but not the back seat since i have buckets/centerconsole that wont allow.
Just wanted to report that the fit isnt too bad.
The driver side fits almost 100 and passenger about 90.
On either side, the door threshold overlap does not seat flush; maybe a 1/4inch up, so i can see it will catch a foot on entry if you dont lift hi enuf when entering. Also, on passenger right side front corner [curved return] isnt flush to the kick panel; misses by a 1/4 inch too.
Thresholds should be easy fix by adding a 'plastic 3m interlok'; kinda like velcro but w/short plastic spikes. Ive used for panels on boat and the adhesive is crazy strong, so shouldnt be a problem to keep thresholds seated flush.
I'll take pics in a few days and post results.
I still consider these matts pricey @$75 a side, but they are tuff, do contain liquids/debris and fit better than I thot.
Maybe Wxtech has re-designed for last years of FGT?

Edit: just did a cursory picture comparison of what @shifty ordered in post#56 [440441] and what i just received [450441] for 06 AC SR5 and it looks like Wxtech did update the design a bit...
if i go search by his number, i get NAPA and they call it "WeatherTech 440441-440443 fits 2005-2007 Toyota Sequoia."
Or maybe Wxtech didnt update and his "fit" standards are higher than mine,
Or maybe the 06 DC frt floor config is that much different? [doubt it]...?
