The stuff from Adam’s comes off super easy. My 9 year old helps all the time.

I frequently use Adams products (except their polishes oddly enough). Especially their Liquid Paint Sealant. Formerly called Adams Super Sealant.

All LSP will wipe off easily if the surface is properly clean and prepped. Otherwise even the best stuff can stick and be problematic to remove.

All of it. Correcting Polish (hand or machine), Buttery Wax, Glaze, Sealant and the Americana Carnuba.

Through my own personal usage I can tell ya the longest lasting wax products that are in what I call the affordable category is Meguiars Hi-Tech Yellow #26.

But then again if you're going to go to all the trouble to do it why not use a LSP that lasts longer. 6 months - 1 year protection with a paint sealant properly applied and cured.

Same. He used to be close to our place in SoCal then he moved. When we moved to Denver, I was super stoked to find him back in the same neighborhood. I love going by the warehouse to pick stuff up because they’ll offer up all kinds of great tips.

My truck was looking pretty rough after driving through brush, mud, and bare branches. I waxed a few times and they still showed so I brought to a detail shop. The guy that detailed my truck said a polish and wax wouldn't get the scratches out and that he had to cut the paint, polish then wax. Whatever the cutting was but my paint looked new afterwards.

He probably used a wool pad with some heavy compound (takes off paint layers). Smoothed it out with the polish. Hopefully sealed it and then applied the wax.

Honestly I’m just hoping that some wax will help protect it a little better from the weather and if even a tiny bit from the brush and future pinstripes. I really don’t care about my truck looking shiny as it’s never clean anyways. And since I’m going to wax it, if it also hid or removed some of the scratches, that would just be a bonus. If not, I really don’t care. I just wanted to make sure wax wasn’t going to get in the scratches, dry up, and make it look worse in any way. My truck is my wheeling rig and it’s only going to get more and more scratches so I’ve come to accept it.

In that case . Clay bar it to remove all the impurities in the clearcoat. Also helps prep the clearcoat to bond will with whatever wax and wipe off as effortless as possible.

I'd go with a Meguiars #26 for durability. Produces better than average protection times. Especially if you apply two coats.

    Wax Reccomendations
Adams Buttery Wax - affordable and protects almost as long as M#26 3-4 months max
Adams Americana - Not cheap, downright expensive but smells delicious and really makes the vehicle pop on top of providing decent protection. 1-2.5 months
Collinites Insulator wax #845- Old school but dirt cheap (and affordable as a side effect of being dirt cheap!)
Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax - Not cheap, but not as expensive as Americana. Goes on easily and comes off super easy (on a properly prepped surface). This was all I used on black trucks before I learned the proper art of paint correction and the benefits of sealants.
Blackfire Wet-Diamond Liquid Wax - more expensive than Buttery, Liquid Luster. Smells good. Wipes clean. Their sealants are amazeballs.

At this point I could go on but bottom line buy one of these and skip the shelf brands from O'Riellys or Napa. ProTip, most O'Riellys sell M#26. you'll find it with the polishes and compound and not on the shelves with all the dirt cheap and bottom dweller waxes.

Yeah, I remember he said to seal. I didn't ask and he didn't go into detail but he said he could get the scratches.

What do I think? You will have nicely waxed scratches...so maybe time to repaint, waxing won't hide these scratches it will make them look worse. Fork over the $$$$ and paint On!
