    Really nice setup!

Just per Renogy, that Rover should be installed vertically and well vented...

I assume the vertical mounting is for “waterproofing”
Just like some light ballasts call for inside engine bays. Helps keep the water down vs coming up or across into it. if he’s in a box, I bet it would be ok.

I'm pretty sure he's fine too, but this is what Renogy says:

    1. Choose Mounting Location—place the controller on a vertical surface protected from
direct sunlight, high temperatures, and water. Make sure there is good ventilation.
    2. Check for Clearance—verify that there is sufficient room to run wires, as well as clearance
above and below the controller for ventilation. The clearance should be at least 6 inches (150mm).
    3. Mark Holes
    4. Drill Holes
    5. Secure the charge controller.

Just got my "Renewd" 240wh Rockpals power station. $96 with Father's Day sale. Basic but quite decent. No display. Basic. Came 60% charged. Lots of various cables. Excellent deal! Pretty much the same as my Jackery 240 that was $180 refurbished but does have a decent display. Will connect a solar panel tomorrow to time top off from 60%. This will go in my underseat storage. Renewd 240wh's are now $107. Still a decent price point. My Bluetti EB3A won't ship until the 30th. I'm gonzo on July 1st..damnit

Anyone going to preorder an ecoflow wave? Looks pretty neat and I’m sure more makes/models will be coming out. Between that and a diesel heater, camping is starting to get pretty plush..

Actually, I’ve been looking at in in depth lately. My thoughts are:

    Pros:
    • It looks like a good design and the smart mode looks very nice to expand battery life
    Cons:
    • It’s big and heavy (38 lbs)
    • The battery designed to work with it (attaches to the bottom) is expensive and only provides just over 3 hours run time. Hardly enough for a night of camping.
    • If you want to use an external battery pack it only works with the Delta series batteries and requires additional cables to plug into the proprietary plugs. If you wish to use some other battery pack other than the Delia series, you have to plug the wave into the AC outlets on the battery. This mode uses significantly more wattage than the straight DC connection. (200-300 watts DC, 400-500 watts AC), So unless you have the Delta battery (expensive) you loose all efficiency and are screwed.
    • The exhaust pipe hose is massive at 8” in diameter
In summary, I think it’s looks solid but is not really designed for the average camper or at least tent camper. Instead, the following Amazon air condition is cheaper and seems more appropriate for tent camping

To follow up, here is another reason. Why I think the Amazon air conditioner is better suited for tent camping. They designed it so the rear is smaller and can easily vent the heated air out the tent with no hoses.

Kuul...pun intended! Definitely post up a review. I'm certainly interested. I don't mind cooling off a hot tent. I use various tents on my property depending on how long I'm there. Got a very big cabin tent that can get quite hot inside even with the windows opened.

The RoofNest I have can get quite warm making it difficult to sleep. Was about to shelve camping until the Fall, but this may save the Summer.

looking forward to your thoughts. This little AC could be pretty sweet for keeping your furry friends cool in the car when unattendedx
I have used my remote start in the past to keep the AC on but it only runs for 15min

Will do! Your idea may be useful but just remember to vent the heated air out of the window.

It’s also funny and not sure if people were watching this thread and then purchased one of these last night. I’ve been watching and reading the Amazon page for several days and the inventory count was the same. After mentioning it yesterday, 6 sold within a couple hours.

@Black Wolf Did you order one of these AC units off Amazon? Just curious because mine still has not shipped even though Amazon was the fulfillment and not 3rd party. There were plenty in stock when I ordered, but now says unavailable.

I kinda skimmed your detailed review, and saw the pictures of it in your tent; why don’t you have the return air vent inside so it’s not pulling hot moist air from outside, and angle your exhaust away from it if you do have to run it that way.

or are those both exhaust ports that are out the back of the tent?

Im not, but I can see how it’s easily confused. There are 4 air flow ports. Two in the front and 2 in the rear.

Front 2: inside air flows in and cool air goes out

Rear 2: outside air flows in over the condenser fins (similar to your home outside unit) and heated air flows out.

This pic is a better explanation.

I bought a 2 pack of the 100W compact design Renogy solar panels on Prime Day for $154. The set is 16% off now on Renogy's site for $210. I saved $56 which is nice. I also ordered two pair of Renogy 10ft 10AWG solar extension cables to mate up with the Rockpals mc4/Anderson parallel Y cable I also snagged on Prime Day. My new Bluetti EB3A has a 200W capable input which will charge super quick using the paralleled Renogy panels. Will work great with my Rockpals 614wh Freeman too!

I think it’s worth it. I don’t know if you saw my review on it but I’m fairly impressed, especially with how little power it uses.

Even though I got 9 hours of use with my EcoFlow River Pro power station, the conditions were favored that night. In order to make sure I have enough power for the whole night of AC when I’m primitive camping, I just ordered the Bluetti AC200Max. Was on Prime Day sale and has good power to drive the air compressor ditikner.
