    Good Evening, My Friends…
    i’ll get right to the point. i own
    a 2004 tundra access cab which i bought brand new in 2004. it’s a 2 wheel drive with the trd package.
    It’s got 104,000 miles on it with no problems until now.
    i’m getting water in the cab of the truck. the carpet has started to change colors around the edges. ( brown) front and back.
    i was told that it might becoming from the drip rails on top…I bought new strips and i need help installing them. any other ideas it might be will help.
    Thanks for accepting me into your form

    ? Sunroof?

    Time to immediately pull out the carpet. If that is soaked the underlayment is as well.

    Also wondering if rust could have penetrated the floor.....

    @Henfield only Double Cabs in 1st gen have sunroofs, so not what's happening here.

    @bama1 There's a dedicated thread for rainwater leaks: https://www.tundras.com/threads/definitive-2000-2006-cab-area-rain-water-leak-thread.70464/

    Since you're new here, I'll recommend you to check this thread also: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

    Take mildew seriously. It's virtually impossible to get rid of once it gets rooted. Get to the bottom of the problem ASAP.

    So the water is staining the back of the cab and not the front, correct? If its the rear it's probably the rear window seal.

    Front passenger side is most likely the notorious cowl fastener.
    Rear is likely either the 3rd brake light seal, jammed up rear window drain(s), and/or one of the rear door seals.
    If you have anything front driver side, solid chance it's windshield or a-pillar via door seals, and you need to be really careful because it will rot out your fusebox, it's happened to quite a few.

    Virtually all of these leaks are covered in the 1st link I shared, with videos, pictures, or links to videos and pictures.
