    Stock. For now
I have a 2018 Tundra and just noticed that I can hear a water sloshing sound coming from behind me when I turn. I only notice it if the windows are up and stereo turned off. Could it be gas moving around in the tank? I have about 1/4 tank left right now. thanks

Hi Aturp34, did u ever figure out what the sound was? I have the exact same sound when I start or stop and turn like there is water sloshing and almost grinding like ice is in there? Sounds coming from passenger side I believe. I also have a full tank of gas so that isn’t the problem. Thanks for any info!

On Fords this can happen if the 3rd brake light leaks, water gets trapped in the cab corners. Not sure if tundra seals those or not.

Could always try putting a camera around that area if you have one. Or put someone in the bed and see if they can hear it out there. Incidentally, what size tank? I have the 38gal and have never heard it at any fuel level. Maybe it has thicker walls than a standard tank, made of different materials, baffles, etc..., tho.

I have this as well. 99% sure it’s the gas tank.

    Nothing to worry about.

Does it happen when tank is full?

Be curious to hear outcome. I had a Dodge Ram van that had this same thing happening. Turns out the right side frame tube was full of water. Took it 10 minutes to drain once I popped a plug out of it.

I just had this issue and fixed it. There is a drain hole between cab and bed. If leaves or mulch gets down in there water won’t drain. I used a small screw driver to loosen leaves and the floodgates opened.

Water sloshing sounded like it was in cab in walls behind back cab seat. I assume in back window compartment. This was definitely not water in truck bed

Thanks, it was like I thought. I guess the entrance is either the 3rd brake light or sun roof. If your head liner is dry around where the 3rd brake light is, then likely the sun roof. I have heard of cowls leaking but that usually sloshes around in the rocker panels. I'm glad you figured this out so we can periodically check ours. Can be a source of rust if they don't drain.

I bought my 2010 this summer, and I've begun noticing some of this sloshing at times, independent of the amount of fuel in my tank. I'm willing to accept that it's possibly in the rear window compartment - I don't have a sunroof. How do I drain this area? That was unclear from the comments above.

    Thanks!
