when I open the hood water drips from the 2 holes on both sides of the center latch. Sometimes good amount of water ... I have to lower and raise the hood 2 or 3 times for it to stop. Not sure if there is still some leftover water causing rust.

Somehow even when the car is sitting, rain collects under the hood.
Kind of annoying. Was thinking about drilling couple of holes somewhere to let the water drain when the hood is closed. It can eventually rust.

    has anyone else noticed this?

I notice it after a car wash, if I lift hood some water drips but it doesn't 'pour' out, just normal accumulation here and there.

I personally wouldn't drill holes, pretty sure Toyo engineers have thought this thru over the last 70 years.

But if you do decide to outsmart them, do cover up the bare metal so the water (which still will get in there) doesn't rust it to heck real quick....

if the car was sitting, somehow rain water collects inside the front of the hood (the lip part) where the ring/latch is.

there are 2 existing holes (in the metal & i assume drilled by Toyota) to the left & right of the latch.
the holes have no real function as i see except maybe to drain water :) that's why i was thinking about drilling more holes. lol
when i pop up the hood, water comes out of one of the holes.
if i don't open the hood which most of the times i don't on regular basis, the water is collecting and just sitting there and can cause rust.

it only takes a little water or even some moister to cause rust.
sounds like not many have noticed this.
maybe my hood has a broken cap or missing plastic cap or something …
