Warhammer 40K

It's the space and time of it. I live in the middle of nowhere. The only person I know who likes it is my brother, and he's a bit of a dick. LOL

He is older than I am, yes, but we are neither of us spring chickens. He's been a dick since he was 5.

 

Giving this a bump.

Like many, to start with I just looked at all of 40K and dove into the faction that I thought looked cool (Tyranids) and that was my main focus. I dig their mysterious and misunderstood lore, too. The idea of them being vicious space locust with supercharged evolution, an ancient cunning, and smothering psykers with their Shadow in the Warp while also being capable of psyker attacks themselves... it's just too cool. Couple that with some really badass looking models/designs and I will always love the 'Nids.

Back when I was still collecting and thinking I'd get into the table top, I toyed with the idea of getting a second army (Space Marines) and I came at it from the same angle as my initial approach to 40K. Which chapter looks cool to me? Though they are all cool, the Dark Angels were the ones that really grabbed me. Love the dark green armor and the robes and wings in their aesthetic meshed well with my general love of medieval knights and fantasy armor. Then I looked into their lore a bit and I liked that too. This was all years ago.

Fast forward to now, and the abandonment of the tabletop hasn't dimmed my interest in the 40K universe. Tack on the fun I've had with Space Marine 2 on the PS5 and it's rekindled my interests, especially in the Space Marines, and specifically the Dark Angels. I am brushing up on some of the history/lore through various yootoob videos and such.

Anyone have a good source for more focused Dark Angels lore, especially on content after the return of The Lion?

 

Love me some WH40K…always loved the figures but don’t have the patience to paint them, I have read a ton of the books and love them, the Horus Herasy is just a great story and well written, I’ve included some links for you below that you may find helpful..I reference the wiki a lot, just search for Dark Angels on it and it will take you down the rabbit hole

It really is a rich universe. I mean, it's as old as I am, so it's got plenty of time to have been built up. The HH is definitely a great foundation, but I'm honestly kind of tired of all the content on it. It seems like it's the only thing I can get solid videos on for lore deep dives. Don't get me wrong, it's a great story and I've run through a lot of it, but I'm specifically trying to brush up on current era. I've been kinda out of touch with events for the last 5-ish years.

Much appreciated on the resource links. There were a couple that I wasn't aware of in there. I'm mainly hunting for videos, as I can have those running in the background while I work nights. Harder for me to sit and read through stuff with and have it stick.
