Hello Truckit. Sorry for the delayed response.

I can’t elaborate too deeply but the other issues are the ramp up of production of the Sequoia as well as Labor gaps that many industries are struggling with.

I know that Toyota is investigating additional resources to improve the situation. Texas production is a priority.

I’m in New Mexico. Put a $500 deposit down end of May on an army green 1794 with the ORP. No allocation yet and to boot the dealership was sold to an auto group out of El Paso. My sales guy said that should not make any difference in the build process for my truck. Needless to say, I’m not holding my breath.

I'll add my experience to the list:

Dealer called end of March saying they had an allocation. Put a deposit down beginning of April. Truck was built 4/29. Sat at the factory for quite a while and then finally got on a train 7/27. Arrived at the railhead/port on 8/18. Finally delivered to the dealership 9/1 and picked her up the same day.

I'll add my experience as well... Deposits placed at two dealers in mid-May on a Platinum Hybrid 4x4 5.5' bed in any color except white or red, and with or without optional packages. There were only two dealers in my area within a one hour drive selling hybrids at MSRP. One of the dealers called in August with availability of exactly what I wanted in Blueprint, plus the Advanced Package and Power Running Boards. Build date of 9/1. It's currently in shipping, I have the permanent VIN, and I'm expecting delivery in 1 to 3 weeks. I'll post when it arrives.
    From central PA.

Put in an allocation request with the dealer in the beginning of August for a LR or AG Limited double cab 6.5ft bed with specific options I am looking for. Nothing has been available so far and Limited double cabs seem on the rarer side so I'm guessing I'll be waiting for a while. Dealer did offer an AG Limited Crew Max 5.5ft bed that someone backed out of but I'd rather have the double cab so I passed on it.

Nice thing with the dealer I'm working with is that they do not require any deposit until they can get an allocation for the truck.

I put a deposit down on a 1794 model with a dealer in CT the middle of June. They claim to be the largest Toyota dealer in the metropolitan NY area and would get more allocations than other dealers. They told me it could be the end of the year before they get a build date or any other information from Toyota. I hope it's worth the wait.

Put in a deposit for a Magnetic Gray CM SR5 Off Road in April. I was told at that time they probably wouldn't get an allocation of exactly what I wanted so I had to agree to other add on packages.

Heard nothing until August when they got an allocation in Lunar Rock with more things I didn't really want. As there was no timetable, for a MG I went with it. It was built in mid August as it was supposed to be. Then it sat at the Chicago Logistic yard and the dealer had no explanation. I had to tell them about the recall that I found out about here.

It is still sitting awaiting recall. I tried to find out more through the Toyota Brand Engagement Center whose reply told me they didn't read the situation described in my email. When prompted to reread it they said I should contact the dealer. I believe the dealer is being left out as well as it would be in their best interest to receive the truck so they can make a sale.

I know others have waited longer, but I am pissed at wasting my time stripping my Tacoma in anticipation of trading it, unfreezing credit, and ultimately missing out on lower interest rates while I wait for someone to get their shit together. This reminds me of the reasons I stopped buying GM years ago, but in this case I'm paying a lot more.

Just read this post and now feeling sick to my stomach. Secured a WCP, Tundra Limited Hybrid, which was to be be delivered last week. Unfortunately today I was notified by my dealer that it was pulled for "INSPECTION" at the train freight destination in Annapolis Junction Maryland. No knowledge when we will receive it now. They told us it may be 30 days, but I told them I've heard nightmare stories about 5 month wait; they said, yes, it's possible. I have to sell my Lexus RX 350 to our buyer as promised on September 30th. Then I will be without a vehicle to get to my medical appointments, etc. This is truly frightening.

Today, I gained a little understanding of the challenges manufacturers are facing with production of new vehicles. I listened to a podcast, “How I Built This with Guy Raz”. He was interviewing the founder of Rivian, RJ Scaringe who described some of the challenges he has faced manufacturing a new vehicle. One item in particular really caught my attention. IIRC, he said a headlight may have 100 parts. The headlight manufacturer is a source for Rivian but that company also needs to source parts from people who need to source parts… I’m not making excuses for Toyota. I’m still frustrated at having to wait 10 months and counting for my 1794, but a little understanding can go a long way.

I have to deal with supply issues (and labor) everyday. Unfortunately, it is becoming a convenient excuse for too many. There are also a lot of opportunities out there for companies to do better and/ or innovate, but no one seems interested in that any longer.

You can go to your local port's website (for instance Florida falls in South East Toyota Distributors' area which covers Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina). SET shows all allocations coming in to all the dealers in their area. That helps to see what is coming up without having to contact or go search each individual dealer's website.

I realized that my order which was considered a special build was going to take too long (they could still not even give me a time frame) so I started looking at allocations. A dealer about 1.5 hours away had an allocation 36 days out, and it was close enough to my ordered build that I decided to rather go with that. The truck ended up coming in within about 20 days of me putting down my deposit. I picked it up 2 days ago.

Just got update from my sales rep today. Really sucks!!! Put deposit on 1794 TRD off-road 5.5 WCP on December 2nd 2021. Original production date supposed to be in March. Then got pushed to May. They told me in July that delivery was around September. Today they told me build got pushed to February 2023!!! With tentative delivery of May 2023. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

They told me all the Tundras got production dates pushed back. Didn't know why. Told me that another customer put deposit last week on a 1794 and build date is estimated at early 2024! What the hell!!!

Anyways, I've already stuck it out for 10 months whats another 6. At least being a 2023 instead of a 2022 hopefully theres a better chance of issues being be taken care of. I know I'm all the way out here in Hawaii but C'mon this is ridiculous.

Put a deposit down 6/24/22 for a TRD Pro. I was told I was #12 on the wait list. Salesman called me this past Monday and said “I have a Solar Octane TRD Pro, do you want it?”

I was at home with it 3 hours later.

I'm with RJJMCD. Deposit on a SM 1794 4x4 with ORP in June. I was told to expect 2-4 more months of wait. I'm thinking I may see it early 2023. Off topic, that's a nice boat in your profile pic. I used to serve on one of those. You wouldn't happen to be near "rotten Groton" would you?

I need your luck. I have been on a waiting list for a 1794 since June. My salesman called me 2 weeks ago and said they have a 1794 in Blueprint with the cream interior and asked if I wanted it since all before me passed on it. I thought about it but I know the cream would drive me nuts so I passed. No other opportunities have arrived:boom:

I can’t believe it. I get zero updates from my salesman at servco. He said end of September. Zero updates as of today. Waiting for an update from him. But all my info is from me asking. I’m borderline about to make a decision to walk away from the tundra. Been waiting for a year.

My sales guy was the same way! Spent a couple weeks on auto trader messaging every dealer that might have a truck and got lucky called a dealership in Kansas 8 hours away about a 1794 and they had 2 coming in that were unspoken for. If you want the truck don’t be afraid to search outside your area

I have a 1794, Blueprint, cream interior. Love it ! I thought I wanted the saddle interior but after seeing both, glad I got this one. I get compliments all the time on the Blueprint exterior and cream interior. But, that light interior is easy to soil. Hope you get what you want soon!

Deposit down 7/11/22, Build start date was 8/5 - ETA to dealership was 9/16 - Actual 9/22. Picked it up last Sat on 9/24. It was the only 1974 with AVS and tow package that the dealership has had allocated to date.

It took me about 2-3 months to actually find a dealership with a truck that hadn't already been spoken for... Ended up at Berlin City in Portland, ME and it was a great experience.

that sucks man... if i didnt have a 21' tundra to drive around till my 23' comes in (looking at how its going now maybe 24'), i would probably go with something else too. I was on a waitlist for a Tacoma Pro, Servco called me today because they are getting their allocations in... but i dont want a Tacoma anymore and declined... so maybe some hope that the Tundra's will be soon.
