Oh I forgot weaponized cars and perks that make those better now too.

 

I loved the original Balders Gate games and I'll be buying this as soon as it hits Xbox. I think you might enjoy it.

 

Played a little Starfield today. I was farting around on the moon and saw there was a spaceship up ahead - turns out it was some religious cults ship. I started shooting at the people outside of the ship and the damn thing took off. So I reloaded and this time I just ran past the cult members and into the ship. It took off again but this time I was able to ride it into space, kill the crew, fly back to the moon and pick up my companion. Apparently she didn't make it on the ship before it took off. So much stupid fun.

I'm sure its been mentioned in the 56 pages of jabber but after visiting the PS store the other day and realizing there is really not a whole lot of draw to the new games currently available I scanned the PS+ to see what's out there i was reminded how great Days Gone is.
The story does take a bit to set in and it definitely gives you just enough to make due but a bit over an hour in it becomes, by far, the best zombie shooter out there and best of all its free to play for those with the ps+

 

I still haven't gotten around to Days Gone. I picked it up during covid and thought it would be a perfect game to play during those months of "shelter at home". But I ended up doing another extensive Fallout 4 playthrough and then jumped into Cyberpunk when it released. I keep telling myself it'll be next after I finish whatever I'm playing, but then I jump into something else.

My son played it though on PS4, which I got for him for Christmas 2019. He did jump into it right around spring of 2020 amid covid and said it was such an eerie time to play it, but he loved it otherwise.

 

Honestly man, give it a real shot. As mentioned it does start a bit tough as you feel helpless but when you do get geared up it was the last game i can think of that i didn't want to put down and didn't want to end. gut-wrenching tension with the game audio too.

 

Ooooh... I'm gonna have to remember that. I'm a bit of a sound freak and game in an 11.2 channel audio setup in the mancave. I love good sound in a game, when used right. Like the Resident Evil Remake games have Atmos. Mr. X was more heart-pounding than ever with his footsteps echoing all around you in the mansion. It was insane!

 

Btw, I know epic games is usually frowned upon, but if you'd like to pick it up on PC, give them a peek every once in a while. They run so many sales and often days gone is there for like 17 bucks. Great game, if a little long maybe?

 

I can totally relate. I also have an atmos setup (not 11.2 though...damn bro! haha) and the game at times caused so much anxiety i resorted to playing youtube video audio on my laptop so i could focus without being on pins and needles the entire time lol

 

Totally! I tried turning the lights off during my RE2 Remake run, and the Atmos effects with Mr. X's foot steps above me, behind me, etc., and not being able to see my surroundings in the room was too much. I chickened out and never turned the lights off again the rest of the game lol.

Yep, exactly why I have a general distrust in humans.

Even if he was only speaking of cracked versions, the fact that he would even consider going there - regardless if it were out of anger - will never get me to trust any of them. No matter how well known they are. Not these days, anyway.

 

"Update: He Says He Won't Now" .... okay buddy. Like I haven't heard THAT before. Back when I helped run a Minecraft server, I had to ban some guy for disobeying several rules. We were actually friends and chatted all the time. But once I banned him, this ankle biter DDoS'd my home network. "I'm not though". Then how come my connection keeps going up and down? Hmmm?

I don't trust it.

 

That game was awesome, although I have to admit I about lost my mind on the Baba Yaga DLC until I figured out the trick(s).

Bigger fan of this one than the last one that got put out.

 

@red_5ive , I'm sure he didn't mean all that mischief, as clearly stated in an edit. He probably got really worked up and upset. Y'know, how sometimes you get that one person so annoying and you want to punch them in the face? You never do it, but the desire is there. Doesn't mean your evil. He's probably a good guy.

@Kung , yes I really like the series. I watched them on YouTube, but for some reason cant get into it when playing personally. Not sure why, it feels like a drag jumping around like a bunny with cute booty, collecting xp and collectibles.

I got to the point where it says you need some sort of special arrow to proceed? I don't have that and I just put the mouse/kb down and launched rdr2. I never liked back tracking if the necessary part is locked away two or three maps back.

This is one thing I didn't like much in alien, but the game itself was so terrifyingly fun I overcame it!

Also, never liked grinding. I like when progression comes naturally. Some games accomplish it better than others or the game itself is so much fun you don't mind it to a sense.

Granted. The problem, however, is that there used to be a defacto "code of conduct" in the hacker/cracker community. You just didn't go there. Period. Times obviously have changed, especially with the age of social media where it has become commonplace for people to air out their dirty laundry. But that doesn't make it ok, and for someone in the modding community to get pissy and react that way is absolutely NOT someone I'm going to trust, regardless if they actually took any action. That's why I say these days I have a general distrust.

 

I understand what you mean and I do agree. Perhaps I may be of wrong audience since I don't buy mods for games. It's either maximum vanilla or whatever internet has to offer free of charge.

I of course am grateful for all the work modders do for the game, but buying separate mods is not something I go into.

Back in the day, I purchased real environment extreme and pmdg turboprop for FSX, but that was as far as I would go.

Another thing that I'm not a big fan of is games that have most of the content payware, such as DCS world and the hunter call of the wild as few examples. It can get hair raising in terms of cost if you start adding up half a dozen mods to your shopping cart. Quality content it is I'm sure, but it's not for me.

As far as starfield goes, I'd probably just opt for no dlss and rant about it every time I game at 20fps or opt in for a free dlss 2 version.

 

The other thing too is, how do we know for sure if sales of his mods were impacted enough, and that's what actually got him to rescind his comments? That would be another reason for me to not trust anyone if it's about the $$. The hacking/modding community at one time was otherwise also about recognition.

But don't get me wrong, it isn't like I haven't participated in mods. I still play a heavily modded Fallout 4 and Skyrim. Who knows, I still may mod Starfield, but something like DLSS that should be built into the engine and is expected to release soon I won't bother with. But it really isn't that bad without it as my rig still averages the de facto 60 FPS with Ultra settings at 1440p, which is my preferred resolution. So yeah, I'm definitely opting out of the mod and bitching about it, but fortunately my FPS doesn't dip quite that low.
