Is anyone playing the Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion? I'm reading bad things about the story/campaign and I'm debating if it's worth the $50. :eek2:

Haven't touched destiny in a long time. Just not worth starting over every time they think something needs balance for PVP.

Yeah I didn't play for over a year when they tried to sunset weapons/armor a couple of years ago. Then they un-sunsetted the sunsetting after all the backlash, but they only un-sunsetted the weapons. Then I heard that dismantling an old maxed-out armor set will give you enough materials to max out another set which got me to jump back in last season. But man, $50 for the base DLC, and $100 with a season pass and add-ons? Can't do these cash grabs if they're gonna suck.

I've been playing it and enjoying about half of it. I've never really understood what the fuck is going on, I just murder whatever they tell me to murder, so the story doesn't matter to me. Pretty cheesy shit. I'm usually checking my phone and waiting for whomever is talking to stop.

They've upped the difficulty to stupid levels on some of the stuff and I'm not happy about that. I'm noticing a lot of people dropping out of battlegrounds after 3 or 4 tries. Yesterday I played one of the battlegrounds that you are supposed to repeat 3 times in a week. I played it for over an hour until I finally gave up. It's one thing if it's gonna be hard, but it's another thing for it to be incredibly hard and then restarting you from the beginning of the battle. I'm working on some build mechanics that'll hopefully make everything a little easier. Still sucks to have to restart every time you are killed.

It's really the only game I play though - I enjoy the shooting and I'm hoping they'll lower the difficulty a bit to make it a little more enjoyable for those of us who don't have the reflexes of a 12 year old.

That pretty much sums up Destiny, doesn't it? Every mission is pretty much go here, kill everything, no matter how much they try to embellish it with some mission/task to complete.

I had a youtube video show up in my news feed (didn't watch it) about someone cheesing the final boss in the campaign. Took about an hour. And he didn't even feel bad about it. Pretty lame if they're going to make you restart at the beginning.

Thanks for the input. I'm gong to hold off and wait for a price drop, even if that means missing out on the seasonal stuff. I'll put that $50 toward Resident Evil 4 Remake instead.

Was it the fat fucker? After about 5 tries, I beat him and thought it was over. My daughter asks me a question and the asshole shows back up with meat cleavers and whipped my ass. I tried to beat him two more times, and both times I had to start back at the very beginning, before he had the cleavers.

So you hide under some stairs and just shoot him until he's almost dead, then you jump on a catwalk and finish him off. When he respawns with cleavers, it drops a dome around the arena. After it forms, you grapple to the top and pick him off from there. He can't shoot so he can't get you.

The new Lost Sectors are a bitch too, along with the public events. At least they don't start you out at the beginning if you die though.

I’m there with you Joel. I’ve played destiny all along and I find it interesting to see the graphic scenes they create year after year. For me the storyline isn’t the thing I need to understand, because like you I’m only there to kill things but from what I read and heard it’s the storyline that missed the boat this time. Besides that the scenes and the use of strand is pretty cool.

They did bump up the difficulty level but I found that the new weapons they give you as you advance up the levels of light makes it a little easier, that or I’m getting use to handling certain situations like the roving pikes. Also enjoy running with my clan mates which turns more into a social event full of laughter but helpful guidance to get through some of the difficult bits.

The one thing I really like with the Lightfall is to save your setup once you created a kickass character. I have a setting for a solar build and a void build. Currently creating one for Arc and now I can switch from one setup to the other with just a click of a button. That is sweet then having to go back to the vault and think up all the equipment and mods you had on your character.

I would sporadically try to kill him throughout the game. Only bad part of the game.

Anyone try out the new PSVR 2 yet? I just bought mine with the Horizon bundle and I got to say, once it's dialed in, it's amazing. Haven't played the Playstation side of things since the PS3 days, so this is my first foray with both the PS5 and VR.

Someone who's experienced with VR tell me how this compares because I can't see this being beat with today's offerings. The only downside right now I see is the lack of games. So far, I've also bought Kayak VR, Pistol Whip, and Gran Turismo.

Speaking of Gran Turismo, I bought an entry level setup to get me into the right frame of mind. Bought the Next Level Gaming GTLite (since it's foldable). I've been comparing it to the Playseat Challenge. I like how the Playseat folds and has armrests for both sides but for everything else, I find the GTLite to be better on. So, we'll see when that comes in. I bought the Logitech G29. I decided to go this route instead of the G923 because I didn't think it was worth the extra 100 just for their limited tech on the force feedback.

Yeah that sounds about right, including the strategy. I almost bought it (had it in my cart on Steam), but decided last minute to skip it and play something else, and so coincidentally...

... this is what I decided to play instead. Finally got around to it after I waited 6 months for a price drop after it released, only to finally play it 3 years later lol. I'm about 10 hours in. Haven't gotten to Moxxie yet. Glad I chose Moze. I read that the game is supposed to be
tougher than the previous installments, and being that I'm playing solo, I went with Moze as she's apparently the tank class character. So far it hasn't been a problem on the normal difficulty so apparently I chose the right character. I died once so far when I first faced Mouthpiece, but then I remembered I had the battlesuit. The dude didn't last 10 seconds on the 2nd try with that rail cannon.

I finally finished it last week. I was relieved that

Same. I mean, teen angst and protective dads are a thing but I feel almost like that IS the reason for this game, as good as it is.

Agree on both accounts. It was an absolute drudge whenever he was around or playing as him.
Especially the part where he’s riding around with girl picking fruit
Other than those sequences, the game is a masterpiece. Absolutely brilliant.

Yeah, I spoke to soon. I got further into the game beyond the initial
area (Pandora) and made it to Promethea, and almost got my arse handed to me. The enemies are way tougher. Had a few nice surprises and almost died a couple of times. I had to go back to Sanctuary and spend some $$$ to replace my weapons/gear.

Still having a blast with it though, and I got to Moxxie . Although some of the humor is getting old (or maybe sillier and less witty), regardless I've been sucked into the Borderlands world all over again. Good change of pace after having spent the last almost 2 months playing God of War and GoW: Ragnarok.

I finally jumped into Outriders. Loving this game so far. It's far more rewarding and less frustrating over other looter-shooters that I've played. My only complaint so far is that I waited 2 years to play it.

I do hope the MMORPG-like features don't screw up the solo experience.

It's supposed to still be completely solo-able at least. But that's all I really know at this point as I've almost completely stopped reading up on games prior to release the last so many years to avoid spoilers (and complainers lol). I'm sure I'll still get sucked into the game regardless.

Diablo IV installed. But. Still. Working. That has long been one of the worst things about telecommuting.

4 days in, and unfortunately it does. They've already started the nerfing.

After about level 20 I wasn't happy with my Sorcerer and was getting owned. So I went through 4 resets and found a build that decimates. Now I wonder how long it'll last. Fortunately I'm not stupid enough to jump on YouTube and brag to the world about it and see it get nerfed once everyone catches on. :muscleflexing:

I've been hooked on Zelda. Can't put the damn switch down.

I want a switch just for Zelda!

But gotta finish several play-throughs with different classes on D4 first. :D

It was kinda sad when I first starting playing because I had to wear readers.

Now I just go into a different room and dock it to the TV.
