If you decide to do the races, don't listen to all the hoopla on the web if you have trouble getting through any of them. All you have to do is

set the lowest difficulty, turn on "Mount Follows Road" in the settings, then just stay on your mount and just go around/pass the NPCs, and also pick up the speed burst power up things. Note, though, that the mount will tend to get stuck randomly throughout the race. Probably the most frustrating thing about the races. I got through all of them on the first try with that strategy. Of course, if you actually want to compete/fight in the races, then don't listen to me.

 

Yep, season 17 is pretty intense

 

A little underwhelmed by Solar 3.0, but I definitely want to craft an Austringer and a Beloved. Hopefully, Arc 3.0 is a little better.

 

Been running either the Jotunn or masterworked sunshot. Yep, a little over the top but fun

 

Drives my son crazy that I clear the map and do all the side quests in every game before I do the main story.

Sunshot was my go to primary for the longest time, but sadly the game lost favor with me after the entire armor set I spent nearly half of my life on Earth mastworking got sunsetted. And then they sunsetted the sunsetting, but what armor was sunsetted couldn't be un-sunsetted. So I sunsetted the game from my hard drive.

 

Played Battlefield yesterday and my first battle of the night I did really well. Was defending a position with the cannon.

Same. Technically I do desktop remote support, SCCM/SQL administration, as well as a ton of cybersecurity stuff (STIG enforcement, server hardening, etc.), but to everyone else I 'fix computers.' LOL

I too will persist with that impression until proof to the alternative is provided.

 

I kick some ass but I don't understand what in the hell is going on. Pretty much like real life.

Picked up my first PS5 title last night, Spider-man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, which includes Spider-man remastered. I started that first as I never got around to playing it. Great game so far!

 

I don't recall the last time I spent more than $20 on a game. You all have me talked into Horizon 2...but it'll be at some point in the future when it's a Greatest Hit or Gamestop/Best Buy has overbought them and has used copies on clearance for $10 or less

I like to explore a lot as well, although I will admit to rarely actually finishing most games. I think the last game I completed in full was Ni No Kuni 2. It was a blast...very reminiscent of the early FF games, which I was a big fan of. I'm probably more prone to downloading a NES simulator and re-playing Dragon Warrior vs. taking up Destiny

 

Assuming you have a disc console, have you ever tried renting from Gamefly? I've been using it on/off for years. I can usually cycle 1 game per month and the membership only costs $15/mo. Sometimes I'll go over (like with Forbidden West I spent 6 weeks on), but even $30 to play a game over a couple of months isn't too bad to me, and it's pretty easy to get a AAA title on release day if you play it right. And it's easy to hold the membership and start back up for times when I don't need the service. Renting is also the biggest reason why I always get the disc version of a console.

Edit: By the way, which God Of War should I start with? I played the first 2 long ago on PS3, and none of the others after that. Should I pick up with God of War III, or just jump in to the newest installment?

I’ve only played the newest one. I tried to go back and play the others but they were awful in comparison.

 

And it just got a PC release in January. So the question now is, do I go PC or PS5 now that I have one? I'd read that the PC graphics only have a slight edge, but my rig can hit really high frames and refresh, and I'm better at mouse/keyboard. But I just got the PS5 and want to use it!

It's free on the PS5, so I'd go that route.

 

I haven't renewed my PS+.

I hate paying full price for that. I'm in the middle of Spider-Man Remastered and will likely follow that up with Miles Morales, I'm hoping in that time we'll see a PS+ membership sale, which if I recall usually there's a mid-year sale. But even then, the $20 Greatest Hits price isn't all that bad, either, or I can rent it on GameFly. PC otherwise is still full price at $50.

 

I've though about it, but at the rate I game, it would be a game every year or two...so it doesn't make much sense.

Believe me I *wish* I had more time to game...but life tends to get in the way. And the people in my life have expectations that things get done! :|

 

I hear ya. Our circumstances are all different, but I went through a good 12 years of that myself when my kids were growing up.

 

@red_5ive they just snuck out a major update for Horizon FW. Visual improvements, new game+, new weapons and armor, and transmog for armor.

Also announced a VR game.
