Man... Well I guess I'll have to try with mine after I get my tune. Can I do this without a tune, just with my dap tune? Maybe I'll try

I'd guess that it's worth a try if you have nothing else going on.

Windows 10 is a pile of garbage. I use windows 7 on a daily basis and don’t foresee that changing anytime soon. If you are only using it for programming, there’s zero reason to update unless you enjoy stuff randomly stopping working.

There’s a cracked version of TS you can run. A bunch of us on tacomaworld have it running to apply a TSB for the third gen Tacoma and do the vehicle customizations. Works with the tactrix adapter used for the tune.

This is the one I’ve got installed
    http://blog.obdii365.com/2017/09/18/install-toyota-techstream-12-02-024-on-windows-7/

The newer version of TS is available too, I just haven’t gotten around to installing it.

You can also do most common customizations with Carista and some other apps but you need a Bluetooth odb2 adapter for that.

Day 5 driving with this tune 91 octane Shell. Low to mid rpm power and torque are excellent. Transmission feels solid and engaged all the time. Smooth and no erratic shifting. I don’t use Tow/Haul anymore. Not needed. D mode is sufficient enough to move this heavy truck with ease. Have not done WOT yet nor data logging. I have that cash issue too with Win10. Really happy with this tune. Made the truck fun to drive even though it is loaded heavy. I will remove some of the weights this weekend and see how it feels. I’ll leave 300lbs for traction.

For any tickets that have not been updated yet they will be by this friday, no later than. Including some who have submitted datalogs.
We had a problem with zendesk misplacing some of our tickets, specifically if you have a "yahoo" email account we may not be getting the email from you at all.

Sounds like some people on the thread need to go shopping on eBay for used laptops with Windows 7. :spending:

Been following this since it started, haven't had a tuned vehicle before so ignore my ignorance.

If we have an E85 (flex fuel) truck, will the truck still switch between E85 and regular fuel? Guess what I am asking is once you flash the truck is it setup for 87/Premium only or will the ECU still adjust if it detects enough E85 content? Or will it require a reflash to an E85 tune file?

Trying to determine if this could 1. eliminate the alcohol density issues and 2. if these make good power on E85 if I would have to reflash every time I wanted to run E85 vs E10 gas.

I see regular and tow/haul can have two different tunes set up, just wasn't sure how it worked on E85 trucks. I didn't see it covered, but if I missed it I apologize.

Last week it was announced all would be taken care of by the end of the week and Friday morning I received an E-mail from you asking me a question. I was away from any computer access for the day and I responded later that evening. I also followed up again on Monday but I have yet to receive an answer. Yes I have an E-mail address through yahoo.

Please advise how I am supposed to proceed with an open line of communication moving forward.

    Best regards
    Tony

I live in Phoenix and I'm supercharged. I've seen intake temps around 160-180 on hot days 110+ Idling in daily driving thru the streets. Highway some days I see 140 if its hot. Should we invest money in a bigger intercooler? When are intake temps a concern? Thanks trying to save for this OV tune as well but need gears 1st.

I wont answer as far a safety goes the truck will see the higher temps and should make adjustments...timing, etc to continue to run safe. Power wise it will make less power after the heat soak sets in and the computer pulls timing and such. I run a triple pass dual fan HX and a 170* thermostat and have the fans adjusted to come on a bit earlier with my GT500 to help avoid the power loss. I don't drive the truck as hard and or fast and have not felt the need to do similar with it. That said you live in a hotter climate than I :)

Yes I am aware Tony, the moment our developer has the new version of our logger ready everyone will be receiving it. I am really lost on why it is not working, nothing has changed.

In regards to development testing, we just need the dang logger to work.

We tuned a magnuson FFV truck in Arizona. Temps do get extremely hot but the truck is still running amazing and offroading all the time out there.

Our new logger will be using a completely different framework and different library and should be completely issue free.

Day 6 driving with this tune. Finally removed quite a bit of weight on the bed. Left 300 lbs for traction.
    Here are my findings:

Heavy Loaded 800 lbs: D drive -- Lots of low rpm torque available right off the start. RPM stays low, gear stays low. Good acceleration on 6th gear compared to stock and the other tune. Really impressive.

Tow/Haul -- a beast. All available torque for that RPM is there.

Light Weight Truck: D drive -- bland like a stock, nothing to be really excited about. Smoother shifting than stock. Holds gear a bit better than stock.

Tow/Haul: Super beast with this lightweight truck. All availble torque for the rpm is there. Truck accelerates quickly. Feels solid, crisp throttle response along with shifting. Breaks traction real easy.

    Tow/Haul + S: It's playtime.

Tow/Haul + S with Nannies disabled: ?? Have not tried it yet.

MPG: 10 MPG combined city/highway with all the testing, Aircon, idling with aircon.

Shell 91 gas. 91 Octane tune.

Do these tunes help make the DIC "Average MPG" more realistic? I understand it's an "idiot light" or function that is merely eye-candy, but if it were a bit more accurate, I'd be glad...small digression, just curious is all...

I looked on the website and I think this answers my question as yes the ECU will still switch between gasoline and E85. Can someone confirm if that's true? Also wonder if E85 makes more power than running premium? Sounds like it does as it's in all caps MAXIMUM POWER

    Website:
Flex Fuel Trucks - Ethanol Custom Compensation Tables - MAXIMUM POWER!
A custom Ignition Table has been designed for Flex Fuel trucks that will add ignition Dynamically when Ethanol content reaches a certain point and the ECU switches to Flex based mapping.
This table works in conjunction with the stock ECUs Flex mapping to bring even more power dynamically through an on the fly Ignition adder table that increases torque as ethanol content rises.
