    Added money to it.
I would also pay for a replacement ECU

If this is about buying a 2020 ECU to make a 2021 work with your software, we would like to buy that ECU as well.

Having a difficult time getting the two files that Im currently working with per my own truck trying to get them set up on vFtuner properly somehow how Im just not understanding how they need to be properly set up on vftuner for further mapping per EROM patch file but I end up dealing with the credits and its becoming a hassle not knowing if there Licensed or needs to be which each file uses credits. As of right now Im unable to do any editing for trying out the direct shift and gear locking.. definitely need some assistance..

Im on the new vFtuner forum…

(Total noob question) Those with the tune, how are you determining the TC is locked? Specific datalog that tells you? Thanks

I can't say that I've seen it in vF Tuner. I'm not sure if it's in Live Data in Techstream. I'm almost certain that I've seen it in my OBDLink dongle when connected to my phone but would have to check to be sure as I haven't looked for it in quite some time... Not exceedingly helpful at the moment, but I may have the time to look into these (TS/OBDLink) later this weekend.

For a Tundra that is getting Magnusson SC, what base tune to install after sc is installed?
This is for a 2010 Tundra. There's a member on this forum that will be installing Magnusson, but the shop found out that Magnusson no longer supplies the base tune. There's a few SC calibrations in the vf tuner but not sure what to use.

Hang on, you're saying Magnuson no longer provides a tune for a 2010 Tundra?

Probably need to know what the current ECU ID is, then someone that had the same one and now has a S/C would be able to share what the YWFxx ID is. Might be a slim chance of finding that person though...

I thought that Magnusson was using OVTune software these days...

Magnuson IS using vF Tuner, but only for the 2019 Tundra. I anticipate they will be using VFT for the 2020/2021 Tundras when Mat releases support for them.

The 2018 Tundra Magnuson canned tune uses HPTuners.

I'm not entirely sure what the 2017 and older trucks are tuned with these days, I know it was BullyDog for a while, but hopefully they are moving towards a proper solution like HPT or VFT.

A Toyota dealership can flash a TRD tune into it and after that you can get the HP supercharged tune if you wish.

I'm sure in time Magnuson will use VF Tuner for their 18 cals and possibly conversion of old calibrations. Our software is comparable to that of HP, and has some tables HP does not. Along with custom patches we have made that gets around the MAF limitations on stock ECU, it's probably the only software if you're looking to run very high HP on stock ECU.

@Vr0ck I found it in both TS and OBDLink, see the screen shot for TS. For OBDLink you'd need to get a dongle and purchase what they call Enhancements to get the PID to see Lock Up.

Art64, you are awesome for asking around for me. Super cool of you!!
Hey, guys I’m the one getting the supercharger put in next week and just trying to what I’ve got to do to make my truck see that is supercharger.
Okay went to the dealership and they said that don’t have the files. Magnuson doesn’t do it anymore unless you purchased the supercharger from them brand new. Will the bullydog work with my truck even though it hasn’t been flashed with the sc tune? I really don’t want the bullydog, can I drive my truck home from the shop without doing anything and park it till I can get the hptuner software?

I actually called him on Friday. I didn’t ask him about that. I was asking about bullydog or unichip…he said hptuners for sure. I’m pretty sure the shop already ordered the bullydog. I’m going to call around on Monday to see if there’s any shop that can do the ecu flash.

The BullyDog will marginally work.... but as @Wynnded said, "don't be getting on it". Lots of folks around on the forums/FB complaining about the BD tunes running way too lean. Even the TRD tunes to a certain extend can run lean according to folks around.

@OVTune Can the supercharged base tunes provided in the Tundra tune pack be used "out of box" as a canned tune safely? i.e. with no modifications to the tables. I'm referring to the ones that are layered on top of the standard ECU CAL ID' i.e. 0CP50 for example, rather than the YWF tunes.

The only thing I can think of would be that the other two maps might be for S-Mode and Tow/Haul. Other than that, I got nothing.

Wheels/Tires and a B.S. "lift" as of 3/5/21. More to come because I can't not F with nice things
what is the perk of getting the HP afterwards? i am so lost with the all the changes and what tune to go with.... Magnuson wants $1200 for the tune on my second hand TRD. Sparks and BD seem like they are out of the picture but i haven't been able to get much info on HP tunes.

My plan was to install myself and order a tune or let toyota do it. Do I need Toyota to flash it regardless? if it matters, it is a 2015 FFV

I am lost as well. Prepared my home for sale last October and then bought one I gutted and remodeled so now I was getting back to this but I have EVERYTHING from my garage in boxes. Long story short I have 30+ days to wait before the garage is ready to install cabinets so I can get my things out of boxes. My tuner dongle is in a box... somewhere

if you are trying to find HP Tuners info on this thread you will probably be lost.
There isn't any perk unless you plan on being tuned after.

    It's a multi step process
    1. install supercharger
    2. Update your N/A ECU to a "TRD" calibrated certified by toyota (YWFxx). This is Toyotas TRD Supercharger tune, out of the box
    3. would be to use VF Tuner software (ours) to further refine your YWFxx calibration or use HP Tuners (Which you'd need to find info on elsewhere)

    Either option requires additional tuning.
VF Tuner option *will have* premade refined tunes for SC calibrations (YWF). HP Tuners does not.

We can also assist you with updating your ECU, which is much cheaper than $1200.

SWEET! Thanks and this helps a lot. I’ve called magnuson, Toyota, spark, and SCOL today and this is the most info I have got yet. I’ve got 2 TRD superchargers that need to be tuned (my bro’s is already installed). Mine is not installed yet but soon as I get the correct info, I’ll be moving forward with it. I’d be happy to give you this business if you can help me get this going and I can get good, reliable power out of it.
