Im currently flashed with the 91 octane torque modifier plus 4low per tune pack that has just been released

From what mat has released per the updates on vFtuner for 0CP80 original stock file are there credits needed per flash back to stock?

My understanding is that once you have unlocked 0CP80 with credits, you should be able to flash any 0CP80 file, stock or modified.

I haven't had the time to actually try it myself as there were still some glitches that needed to be worked out to enable me to flash anything. But, no, you should not need more credits to return to stock. If I am incorrect, I would suspect that the worst thing that will happen is that the software will tell you need to purchase credits to continue and to stop listening to me. ;)

When you open vFTuner, then Help > License Information, does the box on the right labeled Unlocked IDs have anything listed, like 89663-0CP80-?

You should also have at least one credit in the Credits box on the left.

One credit is normal, it will always be there. Do you recall how many credits you had at the very beginning? There should've been nine. Four are used to "register" and get the ball rolling, and then four more are used to unlock each ECU ID (which will remain unlocked forever) leaving one credit. I appears that you're trying to flash a file from a Tune Pack, and I haven't dabbled with those yet as I haven't received mine. I suggest that you reply to Mat at his support email, that way it will include your Order Number and any relevant information about you so that he can look into what's going on. Also, start reading things over at his forum, Forums - vF Tuner Forums

Unfamiliar with the vFtuner trying to learn more but after reading the tech details That sounds about right although I registered, flashed only one file per tune pack, now Im trying to flash the map switching file but only have one credit not mention needing additional credits to go back to stock?

i have received your emails just not gotten back to everything yet.

I'm trying to keep information consolidated just to my forum going forward because it's hard to keep up with jumping around places and it's causing more confusion than necessary.

Also, as I previously posted the EROM map switch files are not pre tuned. If you just flash one as is you won't be getting any benefit.

How to get credits, how credits are used, etc that's all covered in our instructions and website. How to unlock a file, etc. This is all covered within the instructions.
NOSIG means you haven't unlocked any actual file(s). No reason try to download.

I highly recommend taking a second glance through the VF Tuner instructions.

You don't need credits to go back to stock and it's not credits per file it's per UNIQUE ECU ID. Hop on our forum there is tons of info on how to do / use / everything

I have your tune since right before the first implementation of Gear Lock. Seen some not so pleasant posts here from other folks. Long journey indeed with a lot of challenges. Still a great value, imho, at $600 for vF tuner and a tune pack that can be edited.

I fixed the Gear Lock issue with my ecu (I think) utilizing the 91-GL tune that was converted to vfc. Works great now.

How about the tutorial videos or webinars? Not just for us customers, but for pro tuners as well.

editing my rage rant o_O and just going to say, I was pretty frustrated vented a lot... Matt has reached out and asked what he can do to help.

I think Matt has a good heart but a LOT of stuff going on. Hopefully the new hired help will keep things moving along and make VF/OV a big success for everyone.

You were provided a supercharger file on March 16.
You were provided a second supercharger base file on April 16th.
I have also provided you tuning assistance to your questions.

The whole purpose of our forum and only using it is so there is 1 place for all information. You think I'm some forum nazi or something over there? Ok you can think that. But that isn't the case. I only delete stuff that's completely irrelevant. and as a matter of fact the other admin (tacoma guy) keeps that place in check. I rarely ever delete anything. I don't modify posts. I don't stop people from posting. I just want ALL information in ONE place.

Update your software. MANY things have been added, fixed, revised, etc for the Tundra.

Honestly I don't think the issue is our software. It's your truck. Hear me out.

You have this highly modified SC Tundra with a absolute ton of mods. You have tried tuning it on our software. You have tried tuning it on HP Tuners.
So far, as far as I am aware, it has not worked to your satisfaction on either of them.

I have tried providing you 2 different base tunes for you to further modify. (not fully polished ready to go tunes. With your mods, an extensive amount of additional tuning is required).
I have tried, and have answered your tuning questions related to fueling, AFR, etc.

My guess is your frustration is coming from your truck not being the way you want. I even added Flex Fuel Delete into VF Tuner because I saw you needed that + a few others did.

What your truck truly needs is to be professionally dyno tuned. Like I mentioned in the beginning I don't have any file that is going to work for you out of the box.

If I am wrong here please tell me that I am. But if VF Tuner hasn't worked and HP Tuners hasn't worked...I don't know what more can be done.

You and some others may think I am out to get people, out to hustle them. Or whatever. That is not the case at all.

I spent the better part of a week getting flex fuel delete put into the software for 0CM52 and tested on my truck mainly because I saw that you needed it.

I think you’re confusing me with someone else. My truck runs excellent with HPT. I have the ethanol content tuned to zero, no cold start issues, and I have direct shift and gear lock through HPT.

I wanted to try to use VF because I would prefer it to HPT due to the extra tables that you offer.

my issue is that you can’t seem to get anything done 100%.

you say you sent me files but you sent files that didn’t have what I asked. (Gear lock for example)

I say hey, thanks but this isn’t what I asked for... then finally get another response weeks later with something else incorrect(not a SC file, for example... or not the updated one)

you reply here like you’re going so out of your way, “I sent you TWO files and gave tech support!”... the truth is that you have still not provided us with what you promised.

I feel like I am not getting responses and then log in and see you advertising “new years support coming soon!”
    “New this/that coming soon!”

I hope you can see why this is frustrating.

I’m someone who only wants to tinker and tweak my daily driver/weekend warrior and I have full ability to make changes myself... this must be maddening to someone who is relying on you for everything.

Edit, one last thing, to answer your question.. yes I updated to the latest version.

also, none of this will matter without the ability to control DTC reporting. That’s a must and I know you’ve said you’re unwilling to do it. Sad because the potential for VF is very good if this were to be done right.

I did send you base SC files for a FFV.

There is no "true" SC file like a TRD file for a FFV.

The base files I sent you have been working, AFR verified with dual wideband on my truck with a harrop for well over a year. So I don't know how you say it's not a SC file.

I have also posted here, even just a few days ago my developer is working on finishing gearlock and direct shift for older ECUs.

I can't give you what isn't ready. I know I have said 0CM51 will but it's bugged. I don't want to take the risk even if you do.

Actually we are adding DTC reporting. That's why the DTC tab exists. I just have to make sure all the legal wording around it is ok because of the EPA.

I actually think the proof we have released it for 18/19 trucks with map switch/ etc all through VF Tuner and now provides the option to disable it is proof we ARE still working on providing 100 percent.

I will never give up and never quit until my software is the best Toyota tuning software on the planet. It will come with many speed bumps. Delays. A bug or two. But I will never quit.

So take what I say with a grain of salt. Words are cheap. I get that. But I'm more confident than ever in the ability to get it finished now that I have a way of writing patches using renesas ELF tools.

So yea. It's been a long freaking road. Speed bumps. Flat tires. Unhappy people. I am well, well, aware. But I haven't quit. I didn't run off and disappear with people's money like so many other Toyota companies offering bumpers, sliders, etc etc. I didn't absolve when things got tough. And I take all the punches given.

Please read all of my posts about new things coming. It's things (new) coming to VF Tuner that is just stuff we were doing but not done. For example all the new ECUs supported.

Are they actually all NEW ecus? No. They are older ECUs, now newly supported to the editor.

And I want to be completely clear. The only reason I'm going to my forum only is because it's so difficult to keep information where people will see it. 2 pages of posts here and anything I've posted or said is gone. And if you didn't see it at that time you'll never know.
This has been such a huge problem with tacomas (what I say quickly disappears behind pages) that keeping information where people can easily find it is practically impossible.

Also, no SC support for anything out of YF. I don't understand. YF files are the ONLY TRUE SC files in existence.

And also. Regarding our new truck getting a whipple.

Just so everyone knows. I'm doing that to provide assistance to a few older customers looking to get a whipple and need help. Since there isn't anything ready for a whipple.

I actually do listen to you guys it just takes a long time to do some stuff. And yes, life events sometimes gets in the way. There are tacoma folks who still can't accept I couldn't work when I broke my arm.

Fair enough. Time will tell I suppose. I hope you deliver everything you are promising.

If I’m the only one who feels like I do then you are doing things right and it’s my fault and my problem.

I hope you get the bugs worked out and everyone running smooth.

Just a tip for what it’s worth, remember that most of the guys using this don’t understand coding and tuning like you and they are going to need it to be much more refined.

If you can do that and fix those bugs and issues then VF will be a wonderful product some day.

I think you need to take a couple of those spinning plates down though. You’re spreading yourself too thin in my opinion.

You aren't the only one and I fully accept anyone else ready to give me their piece of mind.

I told the tacoma guys the same thing and am in complete agreement. I spread myself too thin trying to do too much, without fully realizing the undertaking with writing code for these ECUs.

That's why I have cut out products. Cut out unnecessary development. Not only do I want to continue to provide this to Toyota's because it's my passion but I want people to be happy using my products.

That's another reason I can't jump around forums anymore. I've spread myself all of these forums and cannot keep up. So I made one forum, mine, condensed with all info.

I know some people think I hustled them. But I'm actually continually turning down stuff so I can focus on this.
And yes, sometimes I try to think of a way to make things work for people who want it. Example, 2020/21 tundra.

I get a lot of emails from people with them. People who supercharged their 20s/21s, no tune, stranded with a badly running truck. So I tried to work on a way to make it work for them.

What I really should have just said was no we can't do anything.

But I've come to that realization. If I don't start cutting out everything, I won't last.

I can appreciate everything you just said.

Just remember that we “old” customers can’t use your product as it sits yet, so the business won’t last that way either.

Without getting into the rest of it. This statement is very concerning. I know you said that the ECU Swap is no longer a priority but now it seems like maybe it isn't happening at all? I just want clarity on whether I will ever be able to tune my 2021 Tundra using your software or not.

Edit: for anyone watching, I am an "old customer" who originally had the old OVTune stuff to tune my Tacoma.

It's the only option I have to offer at the moment and will never be a true "public" option because it's just impractical and impossible to get a continual stream of ECUs.

So it's just a option exclusive for a few of you old customers.

Charge us the costs of ECU, I'm willing to pay.

Since we are after a solution for the 2021, when you mention swap on 2020/2021, what exactly do you mean?
