VF Tuner 3UR Support - Development Tools

I open two calibrations in one instance and can compare each map directly next to each other in the same right-hand window of the app.

 

I've opened up 2 files simultaneously on vF tuner--base tune and the 91-GL, just to see the differences on the tables. You can arrange the tables side by side or top to bottom to compare values on rows and columns.

If you can hook up a bigger and wider screen on the laptop, the better.

The files are named VF001-(yourECUID) (VF EROM patch 001)


To make it easier for folks, you can see that the map switch tables have been preset with base tuned tables for you

@OVTune so I’ve been out of the loop for a while now. Last I thought I needed to wait for an update from Toyota with my ecu and I thought you had mentioned we wouldn’t need to do anything with that. Is that right?

Do we have functioning s mode and gear lock for 2nd gen trucks with these tunes?

Anxious to get this or some other tuner. I want to put my headers on 1st though. So the 18+ will have 4 selectable tunes? I'm really wanting gear lock and direct shift. Will those be better for towing?

Looking more into this now VFT EROM Patch for 2018+ Tundra 3UR With 4 Way map switching is available and reading the tech details per the last page in the FAQ

do i need to open the modified / patched file and copy your tune onto it.

or

flash the file onto the ECU once. And then the features like map
switching, gearlock, directshift are then available.


how many credits are needed?

 

@OVTune Flashed from .P5F to .VFC. Nooo problem. It was a little disconcerting when the ECU Flasher window disappeared though. Clicking the Minimize button on VF Tuner brought it back though. I don't know if that's normal (read only one comment about it) or if I accidentally touched the laptop touchpad.

yep I am aware it happens on some PCs. If you just click anywhere it comes right back.

That means I was wrong I thought your issue was different. Glad it's working!

Well....technically, I have. But I've been running an Orange Virus tune for about 18 months. I've requested and received my tune file which was converted from .P5F to .VFC a couple months ago, but it was essentially a completed tune with the exceptions of Gear Lock and Direct Shift. They're not sorted the way Mat wants them as yet, at least for the older ECUs like mine.

I'm trying to remember, your ECU calibration isn't in the S/C file of the software?

 

I'm a little confused about what you mean by "stock" and "original" in reference to the files. They sound the same to me.

What you could simple do is try it, if the software throws you a pop-up stating that you need to use or don't have enough credits, then you'll know.

now that we have released map switching and all ECUs are supported in VF Tuner + no flash errors anymore, we will be sticking to just using our forum for posting update info.

Thank you everyone. It's been a long road, incredibly fun tuning these trucks. I appreciate everything, all the assistance, testing and support provided by you guys.

Future update information will be on our forum only.

Some time next week we will be posting whats going onto our 2021 for development for you guys. (hint : it's a whipple). The aim is to have a 600WHP ready to go calibration example file for you guys.


My developer is working on full 07-17 map switch / GL / DS VF Tuner support as well. Like previously mentioned those ECUs are more fragile, so it's just a bit more work.
