Is this something we should ask for through zendesk?

 

Question: My ecu has a tune already loaded previously using p5 flash. Now that I have this tune converted for VF tuner, do I need to load the base tune first, then load the converted tune or can I just flash the ecu directly with the vf tune? No mods have been done to the converted tune. Thanks.

 

He will probably give those details when it's released.

Neither, if you're not going to change anything you don't need to flash anything. If you make changes to the converted tune you can immediately flash that.

 

Thanks. I will make a small change like change tire diameter, save the change and flash. I just want to make sure the whole thing works and no hiccups.

 

What field are you using to adjust tire size diameter?

Edit: im only seeing field to edit the gear ratio on my converted tune.

Also, we recommend everyone update to 1.2.9.8 there were some specific Tundra updates in it, along with table fix on 0CL44

 

What does the 1:1 tuning look like?

 

Email him via Zendesk and request a time and date with possible alternatives for both and the two of you can work out something that accommodates you both. Have your laptop charged and ready to collect logs and flash updates. You will flash a file, immediately collect logs, email them, get a revision shortly thereafter. Repeat. Be familiar with the logging and flashing process beforehand. If need be, practice.

 

I'm the one that has a "Unable to get unlock request" error. I do have good wifi/internet connection.
It happens on Phase 3 right after I selected the tune to flash the ecu. Voltage was 12.3 to as low as 12.1.

This is the first time I attempted to flash the ecu with vf tuner.

Days prior to this I opened up the base tune just to look at it, it used some credits. And then when I received the converted tune I opened it and no errors opening it. Accesing the ecu was no problem.

I will hook up a battery charger and try flashing again. I did some minor change on the converted tune-- I changed the radius of the tire and then saved it. Then went out and attempted to flash and same error.

Do we get the converted tune by email? And do we need to use credit to open files with the same ecm (ei; mine is 0cm21)code?

 

Yes, email zendesk for a converted file. Once received youll use credits in vF to unlock it.

I don't think this is a battery voltage problem. I'll troubleshoot with you over zendesk.

I went through this today as well. Mat is hot on the trail of a fix.

EVERYONE: There will be another software fix (likely tomorrow) for what Art and I were experiencing with an "Unable to get unlock Request" error. This only appears to be for some ECUs. But regardless before flashing, please check to be sure that you are on the most recent available version from vftuner.com.

 

I'm really happy today. My GL + DS finally work. Before, GL would not work, just the DS. Truck drives beautifully now. This was troubleshot through the p5 flash. After Mat flashed the truck, I had the urge to test drive it and to my surprise it is fixed. Thanks Mat. I think I irritated my throat screaming while testing the truck. lol. Have fun with the tune guys.

 

This has me wondering if these features not working on early ECUs has potentially been figured out. So tell us Art, does the gear lock work without using the Tow/Haul button now, or do you still need to have that on to get the features? That was the conundrum.

 

I think Mat already figured it out and will update Vf tuner. In my case, I had 2 issues: GL not working on P5 Flash, and error on Vf Tuner. Mat did remote desktop on my laptop, tweaked the p5 flash or maybe Windows, flashed the ecu and it solved gl problem. Will just wait for the vf tuner update and see if it works.

Gear Lock and Direct Shift works on S mode (not Tow/Haul) only. A lot easier to use than before. Tow/Haul S mode functions like stock.

I am ready to post the update that fixes "unable to get unlock request" I just need someone to verify. It's an older ECU only problem, doesn't happen on our test truck

Please help guys, I’m keep getting error when trying to Calibrate ECM it shows either communication ecu error or cannot read VIN. And then after few tryings now I can’t even prepare ecu it says no device. If someone knows what could be a problem please let me know. Thanks

 

Using the latest software version (1.2.9.8)? Updated to the latest cable drivers (Help>Driver Installer)? Also, if you're getting some sort of glitch where "Calibrate ECM" doesn't work, you'll need to close that window (but not the software) and reopen it beginning again.

 

So as far as software when I go to vftuner website it shows 1.2.9.8 then I’ll download it to my laptop and when I’m installing it on the top it shows software version 1.2.9.6! Don’t know why I even tried to uninstall previous vftuner from laptop. As for drivers yes all latest were installed. Thanks

 

That is kinda odd. FWIW, I do know that there's another update pending. Maybe hold off and wait until that drops to see if you continue to have those issues.
