Well just to let you know, I spent $572.49 on Sep 30, 2019 and I still dont have a tune that I am happy with. I would rather drive a factory tune than what I have right now.

So who does that reflect on? Me? Or OV Tune?

And on top of not having a tune I am happy with, I have the owner of the company calling me an asshole and telling me I need to learn how to follow directions and threatening to not provide me with service I paid for

Go ahead and continue to play the victim all you want.
Like I said in the email, you continually refuse to follow simple directions. That's on you.

I am not threatening anything. I am simply saying if you flash with another software you lose access to ours, our features, etc. That is not a threat. Nobody is threatening you.

Now you are lying. On top of everything else, you're going to come in here and out right lie.

I have done nothing but follow your stupid directions. The problem is you keep changing your directions.

I think you have made your point. An innocent victim of a terrible tuning company out to get you.

That isn't a threat. That is the instructions I have been trying to get you to understand since January.

So much less BS with the ignore button. I like my tune. It's taken some getting used to with the gear lock (especially when you forget with the tow/haul button), but it's nice none the less. Looking forward to my update in July.

This thread would be 20 pages long if it wasn't for all the whining and bitching and constant asking for updates. It wasn't a secret 6 months ago that this is a beta tune still in development and that the process could take a while. If you can't deal with a feature that doesn't work properly or it shifts weird, flash back to stock and wait til the final version comes out.

He has had multiple updates. Not waiting since January.
What we have been trying to get him to understand is that if he needs something, has an issue with something, he needs to tell us through our zendesk / email portal so that we can put a note on his specific ticket chain so that it gets done.

But he does not do this.

And he may make you guys think he does.

But I had this same exact conversation with him in February. When he got mad at us on the forum for not already updating his tunes for his tires and gears. Literally *Days* after we figured out how to do it. Instead of sending a message to our zendesk so we can attach his message to his account and ensure he gets it. Instead he did this same thing.

that's not even counting the whole header conversation I had with him, AFR tuning, etc regarding him getting info from JBA that his tune may run lean with the headers and getting all bent out of shape about it because he saw someone else on the forum get a tune update for their header and he didn't.

Anyways I do not want to argue with this guy anymore. Believe what he says, don't believe what he says. There are 2 sides to every story.

Exactly my point. You sent me an update and the tow haul stopped working. But I did not email you because you said no more updates until end of July and now you are accusing me of not following directions

Or maybe the shift points needed adjustment because of your modifications and a simple message to our zendesk would have took care of the whole thing.

Anyways you win. You made your point, and you have a few people not interested in our product as a result. You win.

What I see a lot of on this thread is people convincing themselves that they didn’t waste $500. For the price, the tune is good enough. But did they live up to the promises? Not really. The shift points are better than stock, I’ll give you that. But the only reason I paid for it was the removal of throttle limits in 4wd. Anyways, if you want smoother shift points and have $500, go for it. But be clear this is not a custom tune no matter how many logs you send.

    Not at all.

I would recommend you read past history with this specific guy. We are not a perfect company and I have said this quite a few times. We get ambitious with things we work on and at times miss deadlines, like our initial time frame for some of our patch work.

But there are a very select few people here who go above and beyond to make our job harder than it needs to be. 95% of our Tundra customers are very happy with their tunes and are eager to get the next level of development that we are working on.

There is a whole lot more to this than the last few pages of this thread.
He has made tuning his truck much harder than it needs to be and some of it is absolutely his own fault.

Could I have been nicer about the whole situation? Probably. This isn't the first time and I'm certain won't be the last time with him either.

He has made it look like all we have done is just shaft him, when in reality we have given and done everything that he asks.

Sorry but this is false. How custom the tune is that you get depends on your modifications, how many logs you send to get it dialed in.
Some people have had 10 to 15+ unique revisions for their trucks, Mostly supercharged.

N/A vehicles *generally* do not need as much customization.

    It's funny.
Our tune has been dyno proven to make more power than competitors. It is cheaper than competitors, and comes with custom options nobody else is offering. And yet some people post here like it is just some bland tune nothing special. If that is your opinion that's fine, but it's not the reality of everything that's put into it.

And the actual reality is the people unhappy are few and far between.

The people MOST unhappy are the ones who don't follow directions.

Customer is always right. Except when they're wrong and even then, give them what they want.

If owning a business was easy everyone would do it. I know I won't do it because I know how people are and pleasing everyone is out of the question, but damn...this is nuts.
