I like this guy. He's a oil pro. I'll start using this with my regular oil runs out.

I’ll try to pay more attention, but I don’t detect any sound difference between fresh oil and that with 5K on it when I change it.

Engine has 182K on it. All I hear is an occasional touch of light belt chatter on a cold start that clears up quickly. I’m about due for a replacement. I’ll do it a 200K, along with a big pile of other scheduled stuff.

Do you hear anything besides that big subwoofer in the back??? :D

I hear the same bit of extra clatter when it’s getting close to needing an oil change. But the motor gets worked pretty good at least once a week.

Funny you bring that up. I’ve just about got the front stage keeping up now, with the 8s in the doors. Not totally done tuning, but she’s well on her way. I will say that the imaging is outstanding now. Like, crazy good.

We've been running this in our 2020 PLT 4x4 in 5W-30 for the last 20,000 miles (4x 5K OCIs). Highly recommend it.

I went with SI TM8 with M3 in dash and M25 in sail panels. Took some finagling to make them all fit, but it does. Ish…. Using an Audison Forza C8.14 for the fronts.

SGS adapters and block off plates in the doors, with a shitload of deadening material.

    Oil.

Figured I’d mention that so we’re not totally hijacking! Lol.

Same here! I definitely notice a change in engine noise every time I near oil change time. Interestingly enough I just noticed the noise much sooner this time around and now that I'm thinking about it, I went with a cheaper brand oil this time since it was on sale...

I changing my oil this week, going from Valvoline High Mileage full synthetic 5w30 that I ran since the truck hit 100,xxx miles, with oil changes between 5000 and 7000 miles. Now I'm at 180,xxx miles and noticed that I'm using some oil between changes, about 1/2 -3/4 a quart. Also noticed the chain tensioner noise is getting slightly louder on start-up and have a had a decrease in mpg. I plan on using the 5w30 R&P with toyota oem filter. I think I'll run 2500 miles swap out the filter and do a full change at 5000 miles. I'm feeling pretty positive on the results and will post an update after the first filter and full oil change.

I switched my 2011 Tundra to R&P, been using mobil 1 since it came out, and noticed immediately as others that the timing tensioner chatter noise went away. This truck is a garage queen, my wife even asked if I had worked on the truck because it was much quieter. I also noticed an improvement in gas mileage. Ive always babied it that is unless someone tried me at a light, lol, but over last 3 fill ups I went from 11 mpg to 11.7 on mixed driving the same as I always have. Mobil has been good to me, but I believe Valvoline figured something out, true proof will be long term mileage as my 01 tacoma has 427,000 and only burns 1/2 qt between oil changes.

So I watched a lot of videos on R&P and decided to try it on a 2000 Dodge Dakota. I'm the original owner and sometime after 100k, I decided to switch to synthetic oil and am now at 227k. Specifically Mobil 1 5-30, and then 5-30 high mileage at most oil changes for the last few years. I would see about a quart of consumption ever 3000 to 3500 miles. I stated using R&P in March, and after 350 miles, I noticed that it seemed to run quieter and smoother than before. I also noticed that when checked, it would appear to be much darker or dirtier as compared to Molbile 1 at similar mileage. So it may be that it is removing carbon and sludge. I haven't done an oil analysis. I changed it at 3000 miles and used R&P again, and again, it does look like it is getting dirtier at a faster rate than mobile 1. I decided to try it in my 2006 Tundra Double Cab with the 4.7. It also had a slight oil consumption, of about a quart in 5000 miles. It has 215k on it. I am about 1500 miles into that and I can't say that I have noticed it running smoother, as it was fine before, and I can't say it's quieter due to the exhaust manifold leak, bit It does appear to be getting darker at a much quicker rate than the Mobile 1 high mileage I had been using for the last 35k miles. I don't drive this vehicle a lot as it is set up for camping, but it does not appear to have burned any oil. From what I have seen in oil analysis testing from others is that it seems to be just as good at engine protection as other synthetic oils, so I figure i would use it for a few oil changes and see what happens. Valvoline says it can clean up to 100% of deposits in 4 oil changes. I may do an oil analysis same on the second change for both trucks but I do feel it's reduced, or even eliminated my oil consumption in the Dakota, and perhaps the same with the Tundra. These are just my observations. I would also say that at 30 for a 5 quart jug at Walmart, it's quite a bit cheaper than Mobile 1. So if it's doing just as good at protection, and cleans it up, what's the downside? If you had an engine that was not well maintained for a long time, it would probably be wise to watch the oil pressure, and potentially change out the filter early, if not a much lower 1st oil change interval. I have also been using Redline Fuel system cleaner in both trucks pretty regularly and would recommend that you use some type of PEA based fuel treatment in vehicles to fuel dilution in the oil, which can often mask an oil consumption problem.

Just did my 3rd oil change with this. I haven’t heard my chain clack in the last 5000 miles. It had to have un stuck the tensioner, unless it has some sort of magical unicorn muffling ingredient… but, it sort of freaks me out that I put in 8 quarts and only get back 7. And this time it might have been a tad less than 7. I don’t know. I don’t like that, but maybe what ever they add to the oil to clean gets burned up. I’d prefer to just put in mobile one high mileage. After I do one more oil change with this stuff, I go back to mobile one and see what happens.
