To all those with open orders to me, if you have an order with powder coat and you would like your plate sooner, you can request a refund for the powder coat amount and I can ship you your plates much faster, I hate having a delay with powder coat and I will do what I can to get your plates to you faster

Hey guys, just met up with Tyler this morning to see his operation and to get his take on his product vs other products out there. I must say it was refreshing to met a vendor who was willing to share with me (a noob in the Truck World) all the ins and outs of his products and let me take a tour of his workshop and see his product first hand before purchasing. (I know, I know I'm gonna get heat for being one of those guys that has to see the product and touch it before buying it, but oh well. ) I can see how Tyler's Valhalla Shield is a great quality product, (and before anyone says it, NO I'm not being paid to say any of this and No I did not know Tyler before today). Tyler was even nice enough to allow me to lay on his ground to see underneath his set up on his Limited which gave me a idea of how it should look and be on my truck. Being that I am such a noob to the Tundra world, I was so happy to hear that Tyler even offers install (for a small fee) and for an individual like me, who would probably end up F-ing something up if I did the install myself, it is a great option. If you are interested in getting the Valhalla Front Cat Shield or the Back Cat Shield, please do yourself a favor and PM Tyler and send him a deposit to hold your spot in line to get a shield. Even though the Valhalla Shield may be behind in production due to the factor that Tyler is a one man operation, his product is awesome and I even left with sending him a deposit for both a front and back cat shield myself. Thank you Tyler for taking the time to meet with me this morning and shoot the shit a little. Guys out there lets support Tyler and his Valhalla Shield.

Just placed my order. Not too worried about cat theft where I live, and I park in a controlled lot at work, but you can never be too sure.
I went with the 1/4 aluminum, so the added protection is worth it either way.
Looking forward to getting these on and eventually the front skid plate to complete the package.

I would like to express and share my experience in dealing with Tyler from Valhalla Shield. If there is any doubt about ordering this product from Tyler, I can attest to the quality of the shields and even more so, is to his character.
I've reached out to Tyler a couple times regarding issues other than his theft shields, and he has without hesitation, taken the time to engage in the topic to reach a solution.
We all can only imagine the volume of interest he's getting (and yes that's part of juggling a business) however his business practices which he takes to a personal level is what empresses me.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hey Don, Just curious why you chose the 1/4 over the 3/16. I know it’s not really that much difference in thickness. I wonder if it would be better to stay with the 3/16 if you have the Pro. Because it goes between the Pro skid plate. Thanks.

I’d be ok if you shipped mine out without powder coat. I’ll attempt the refund request but that’s not the end of the world.

@Classy63 is the rear plate supposed to press up against the transfer case little skid plate rather tightly?

I went with the 1/4" aluminum for max protection with minimum weight.
I just have the non-Pro skidplate, and will be replacing it soon, probably with Tyler's version, so hopefully they all mate up well together.
Will probably replace the hardware with some security bolts, or at least some allen bolts, so I can just go longer if necessary.
Some folks have cut notches in their front skid plate to accommodate the fit, which is always another option.

Disregard what I said about cutting notches, must be thinking of something else.
Tyler mentioned the front cat plate will work with the Pro skid plate, its just a challenge to get the nut back on top to get them bolted up.
Its doable, just takes some patience, and apparently small hands help too.

No, most people remove the factory transfer case little skid plate, but some leave it on for extra protection

@Classy63 got the plate in today. Looks fantastic, and wrapped up unbelievably tight in that cardboard lol. Good call on the twin zip ties for the hardware, one did break in transit, but the other was still secure.

I'll get it painted soon, but it may not get mounted for a few weeks until I can have my buddy remove the rear 2 cats as previously planned.

All good! To be fair, I watched my FedEx guy carry up my front yard hill on his head, and he wasn't gentle about slamming it down on my porch lol. It might have been a hell of a trip from TX to PA.

Still, your packaging was light years better than when I got my P&P engineering skid plate. Hardware was flying all around the box and lost about half it before I even opened it.

So, I have been very busy and I have unloaded the trailer of all of this (there was actually more it was added after the picture). This isn’t enough to cover all the orders I have, but this weekend I plan on getting the remainder of the plates to catch up to my orders cut.

    y’all’s patience has been amazing

I wouldn't worry. Honestly he did a great job packaging it. I didn't splurge for powder coating just in case it got beat up during delivery (which it didn't anyway). Plus I already gave tons of leftover Rust-oleum Hammered black paint I used for my front skid plate.

Yeah I’m not worried about it David. I don’t think the ups is going to be able to bend those steel plates or the aluminum.

I just got my plates in the other day and the packaging was great. My plan is to paint it before install. I was going to clean it with acetone, use a scuff pad, spray a couple of coats of self etching primer, then do a coating of black engine block paint from cans. Does this sound sufficient for a decent level of protection Tyler?

That sounds very decent. I'm partial to the hammered black paint since it seems to have a pretty hard finish. However engine block paint is a good choice too.

@Classy63, just curious if your front skid plates will be compatible with trucks with a diff drop kit installed?

Good question, it is actually designed for that, my truck was the test mule we designed off of, and it is a 4x4 with a front diff drop. All the front skid plates are designed around it, if you have 2wd, you have some extra room in the skid plate

Hello all. I just want to take a minute to address anyone who understandably has any reservations about dealing with a complete stranger, in another state, in order to purchase these plates. I was a little skeptic myself, but let me tell you that my experience with Tyler was a great one. Not only did he create a great product, but he is an honest, stand up guy. To make a long story short, I placed an order with Tyler and paid for the plates yesterday, only to realize this morning that I had overextended myself a bit financially and had no other option but to ask him for a refund before my plates shipped. I had no idea how Tyler would respond, but he replied immediately and completely understood my situation. I figured that he wouldn’t want to deal with me in the future, but the opposite was true. He refunded my payment immediately, said not to worry, and if I wanted to order in the future to just let him know. Thanks again Tyler, I wish you nothing but success!
